Yeah, this deserves its own thread...

Must have been around 20 people doing this ride tonight.

The traffic gods did not cooperate with me, so I got started on the ride at 6:18. Managed to PR both the Black Star climb and descent. I guess I only go fast downhill when it's dark.

Lots of fun and camaraderie at Beeks. Beer was consumed. Smack was talked. New introductions were made. The ride was a success. New tradition (second year in that I know of) is set.

    Some pictures of the fun:

Looking back at the group from near the golf ball:

Good night for a social outing.

Big crowd out there tonight. Actually worked out to be 2 separate groups, but it all kinda melted into one group up top.

Started off towards the back of the pack....and started to work my way up. That was until I started sucking wind about 2/3rds the way up.

Temps were actually really nice out there today.

Libations were consumed.....or so it appeared.

We chose not to bring lights along....so we headed down just about sunset.

@trailslayer asked if I was gonna take the singletracks.....yup, so he and his friend followed me down. Having the youngsters on my tail made me go faster.....turns out I PR'd the first ST, Booby Trap and The Plunge.

Got back to the truck at dark.

Thanks @Rumpled for putting this together.

AWESOME male Granite Spiny lizard, our state's prettiest lizard. I haven't seen one of those since my fishing days at Lake Perris.

No lights for me down all new trails. I guess I did all but one ST and had a blast. Got crossed up in a decent rut I couldn’t see, but managed to get under control in the weeds. Top speed of 36mph on dark bottom section.
Thanks for the ride and experience in new dirt. Looking forward to more time up in the Santa Ana’s.

One beer at the start, two on top plus a few nips, and only one trip off the trail into the bushes on the descent. Favorable stats!!!!!!!!

Awesome times, Jim and all. Great group and super outing. Great to see and meet some Aye Empty Beers...you know who you are. Here’s to the Hasher spirit, whether or not you imbibe...

I will deny crashing; it’s not like you have it on video or anything,.....oh wait,...

I think the rumblings at the bottom just confirmed that there were others that may have “strayed a bit off line”

Trail was a blast- especially at speed with low light:thumbsup:

A lot of good people and enjoyment on the Summer Solstice Ride. Thanks to @Rumpled for making it happen.

I also did not use lights , except for the rear blinker, on the way down. That worked out well. Got a good view of a few Planets in the sky.

One of the highlights of the ride was wittnessing @Grego launch his Beach Cruiser off a berm and catch some major air. I think that was about a half mile down from the Beeks Gate. Impressive
