I have three Ibis bikes. There's a lot of overlap between the Mojo and the Ripley and I found that I grabbed the Ripley 95% of the time when leaving the garage. Still on the fence on whether or not to just keep the Mojo because it is a blast to ride.

I effectively demoed both the Ripley and the Mojo (each was loaned to me for an extended period of time), and I enjoyed each but preferred the Ripley. So I bought it! :) But the Mojo was amazing and yours is beautiful. Somebody's going to be really happy.

Sorry for the derail, @pperrelle. When I saw your ad I actually thought, maybe I should buy your Mojo and have one of both!

Sweet looking bike. DW is amazing.

You should! I'm one of the sellers j referenced. Selling my HD3 keeping my Ripley, but only because the wife has a 1 mtb policy. Otherwise no WAY I'd sell the HD3.

Good luck with the sale @pperrelle !

Just wondering from you folks that have both, how do the HD3 and Ripley differ on the trail (not on paper). Interesting that more than one of you prefer the Ripley, but just wondering why.

For me the differences are pretty much what you would expect. The Mojo is a little bit more nimble than the Ripley and with the extra travel is definitely more plush in the chunky stuff. I have to choose my lines a little more carefully on the Ripley where the Mojo will just plow through stuff. The wagon wheels and their rollover qualities do lessen the gap here some. The Ripley is a better climber and feels quicker on the flats. Honestly, I would be happy riding either bike. If I didn't build up the Ripley earlier this year, I'd still be smiling turning the cranks on the Mojo. After spending some time cycle touring on vacation this summer, I am looking to pick up a gravel/touring bike to add to the garage so I need to make some room. Honestly, I am still not 100% committed to selling it,but figured I'd toss it up and see what happens.

    Nope!

Like I said, I'd keep both bikes if there wasn't a one bike policy from the wife. Or the HD3 if I had the time to ride summit or mammoth more, Or if my local riding was more off menu than it has been lately. The Ripley climbs better, but it's not as forgiving or plush at speed. With two kids under 3 my riding time is limited and I've just been riding tamer stuff for the most part, so the Ripley is staying but I'd be just as happy with the HD3.

Anyone want to convince my wife I NEED two mountain bikes?

You need both bikes because each one keeps you safer on a particular type of trail you love to ride.

Thanks! That's what I presumed, but good to read. Someday I might upgrade, so I try to keep all this bits of into on file!

Yeah, exactly why I asked! Some valid data-points right here!
