Rode to my ex's place to check on the horses since she is working late. Saw 124 on my Garmin. Time for me to head to Moreno Valley, about 20 miles. But it has dropped below 120 now.

In my van...

 

I'm just checked my car as I moved it to a shady area. Inside it was 132. Outside is 110. In my room is 90 and this house has no air conditioning. I do have a fan though.

I'm enjoying my tea mixture.

 

Topped out @ 115F in Redlands today at 1:30. Then some cloud cover the rest of the afternoon, currently 112F. Of course that cloudcover means it won't cool off tonight, and the low is project to be 78F this morning.
Our AC can't keep up with it, and can only keep it at 81F although the thermostat is set to 78F. #oldhouseproblems

 

I just took two gallon bottles of water, poured out about a cup from each bottle. Added about 4 tbs of sugar and it in the microwave to melt the sugar, stir it until dissolved . I cut about 12 slices of cucumber, 4-6 slices of lemon, then squeezed the rest of the lemon into the bowl of sugar water. I divided the sugar water into each bottle and shoved in the slices. I added two bags of green tea and put it in the fridge. I didn't have cold brew tea.

It's very mild tasting. You can add more fruits or skip the sugar if you want but I didn't shop yet so no berries or such.

 

Only got to 105* in Lancaster today. Down to 103 now. You know it is a strange weather pattern when the Antelope Valley is cooler than the San Fernando Valley. It was 116* in Granada Hills today but it has dropped all the way down to 110* now

 

Kind balmy right now in Trabuco at 108. I might go out for a slow cruise later..

Joined the club today. I wish it was a "ride" mower.
This is what happens when you ride your bike early to avoid the heat - you get to work in the heat. About 103* when I was finished.

 

That's exactly why we pay other people to do that stuff.

Only 65%! So it only felt like 105... Much better than the last few days.

 

See, that's why I removed the temp field from my Garmin. If I can't see it, it didn't happen. I never know how hot it was until after the ride.

 

Pretty high...

 

The last few days we've had humidity near or over 80% until well into the afternoon. Today felt pleasant in comparison!

 

It was like that when I was in SC... seemed to double the perceived temps!

 

Was this up in RSM today? It was 91 in my car when we got back in at 10:30 am up on Mt Laguna but that was in the direct sun. Our ride felt like it was in the high 70's since we had a decent breeze.

 

It was only 90 in RSM... That 100 degree temp was on the Bell Trail that goes to Caspers. Starts from the catholic high school near Dove Canyon. It's an exposed ridge, and it's always like an oven.

 

But it's a fun ride, even at 100 degrees.

 

Membership renewal... it was 85 at the tree farm, so I knew it was going to be quite toasty. The Wahoo hit 102 while climbing the last mile to Beeks. It hit 107 sitting in the sun when I pulled over to check stem bolts.

I don’t usually carry a pack just to climb to the golf ball, but I did today.

And now that I know what’s going on with my shoulder, I’m looking at every bump differently. It’s going to be a long summer.
