+100 degree club

Ours is 80 til I get home 76 then. Been hot all day working in the sun and my core temp is elevated and its time to relax. Ain't worried about the cost when I am home, I am an earner not a saver.

 

Combination of the refund for the security deposit when we moved in, paid to SCE ($100?) and an energy credit for using so little power.

And 1337

Fortunately/unfortunately, my military days are behind me. I don't miss the bullshit. But right now I should be in Houston, that's where I belong (helping during devastation). My ship was one of the first on scene after the tsunami in Sri Lanka, air lifting supplies.

 

This was fun having to be out in! Although a huge downpour watered the plants and dropped it down nearly 20 degrees!

 

Garmin says Tuesday was my hottest commute, 109 max, 106 average for the trip.

Today's was great. Started hot, ended in crazy wind.

 

Here we go! Who’s riding Friday and Saturday? I expect little trail traffic and am hoping for no wildfires.

 

I will be going into hibernation mode until this crap goes away. Unless of course, I decide to go for a night ride.

 

I'm going to wait until Sunday to ride. It will be the coolest of the days at 100°.

 

I’ll get out early on Saturday.....but I’ll be done before 9:00.

 

I'm cat sitting for my mom, so about 15 miles in, 20 or so home. The home part will be in the heat, and climbing 1000'. But, it'll have a nice tail wind!

 

A tail wind might mean no wind.

Will be going to the coast tomorrow to beat the 100+ heat for the next week. It will only be in the 80's there.

The Midwest in July....nope!

 

There is supposed to be a nationwide heat wave this and part of next week.

 

It's not really the heat that bothers me so much as the humidity. We are just not used to it here.

 

Same with me. Humidity kills me. Heat I like ... keeps the hikers off the trails

 

Yeah, when the humidity goes up it really sucks.

 

I always heard all these stories about humidity. I was in New Jersey for boot camp in the spring, so it was perfect weather. But then I flew to Yorktown, VA for training in June for three months, and oh my f@cking god was that miserable.


I'll stick with the California dry heat, thank you.

 

I did my basic at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Humid as hell! One day we were out marching and this weird-looking creature about the size of a butterfly landed on my arm. I asked one of the other soldiers WTF is this thing? He responded that's a mosquito! Apparently they grow bigger with the humidity?

 

its not about the heat, its the humidity... its not about the miles.. its the elevation...

 

I hate heat and humidity. How's that grab ya?
