We may be joining the Path Live Oak shop ride on this day. It's in the same area, but they plan on ascending W. Horsethief, descending E. Horsethief, and ascending El Cariso etc. back to Trabuco and down.

It looks like the Path rides are cancelled for this weekend...

    Thanks, Faustie.

We're doing Yeager Mesa tomorrow at 8am from the HJ parking lot. A short-ish loop for students fresh off the books...

The county road to the forest is quite muddy today and likely will be tomorrow.

I did Harding to the peak, and then down Holy Jim. There were only a few puddles on the entire route. It was a great ride! By the time I hit the end of the Trabuco Wash, however, every inch of me and the bike were covered in mud! It was absolutely a blast coming down! It's going to take 3 days to clean the bike, but it was worth it...

You've seen the brown paint treatment, Mikie... Since then the road was resurfaced with 6" of dried mud (aka dirt), so you know what it is now. I had to shift the FJ into 4x in one spot.

It's like driving in a blizzard to get fresh tracks. You gotta make the sacrifice to get the goods

Nice ride, Faust. Good on ya for getting after it despite the cost. Up on the mountain it's amazingly mud free. The county road would be, too, without that foreign dirt on it. Although Yeager was slightly slippery with moisture, there still was no mud to speak of.

Well... At the peak, the bike was still clean enough to eat cookies off of...

No eating off of it after the Trabuco wash... :) The picture really doesn't do it justice. My water bottles looked like plaster casts.
