    All,

I'm going to ride the strawberry peak loop early tomorrow, Mon 6/20. Since it's going to be so hot and there is not much shade on that route, I'm thinking of starting at 5:30 in the morning. If anyone else is interested in joining, I'd love to have company. Lemme know.

I really want to commit to your ride, but I won't be back home before midnight. If I can get my ass out of bed in time, I'll join you.
I'm assuming you would be starting from Clear Creek at that time. Hope to join you. Don't wait.

Would be great if you can make it.

I've also got some family commitments keeping me up late tonight. I just figure I'll catch up on sleep later in the week. Early is the only time I can go tomorrow.

As for start place, I wasnt sure if Switzer's would be open that early or not. If it is, I was going to park down there, hopefully in the shade. If it's not open, then clear creek it is.

The forest service usually doesn't open the gate to Switzers until 8am. Sometimes later, rarely earlier.

I didn't make it. My 4am alarm was duly noted and ignored. I'm back in Del Mar for a other week of riding the coast hwy....
    Could be worse.

I'm ashamed to admit that I was a bit late to my own ride... 24 hours and 37 minutes to be exact. (by the way, wtf is with LAX late on Sunday nights? The traffic was insane.) So I went this morning. It was, as you'd expect, a great ride. Nice feeling like you've got the place to yourself so early the morning.

Fwiw, Switzer's was open when I pulled in at 5:45 AM. Also, the bushes on the Gabrieleno trail are getting pretty overgrown. Still a fun trail, of course, but it takes a lot of bobbing and weaving to be able to see.

View east from red box below. Can see the smoke from the fire.

Also a picture of Strawberry peak from the potrero. Such a nice spot.
