Memorial Day rides?

Anybody planning on riding Idyllwild? Would like to join with someone who knows the trails well
So, what other rides are being planned?

 

I would love to ride up there too... Not gonna commit to much until I get clearance from doc. I get X-Rays tomorrow.

 

I'm gonna stay local and probably do a short ride.

 

Snow Summit Opening Day is this Friday - I'll be there and ready to #getrad!

Picked up my tank yesterday from Fullerton Bikes; she's tuned up, cleaned up and ready to roll ...

Who's in??

 

Will be in Santa Cruz for a friends birthday and of course some great riding.

 

Looks like I have an all day pass on Sunday. So I'll be watching the forums!

You might want to add MONDAY to your title, most everyone assumes you mean the whole weekend.

 

We really should have a Loose Piños day. I miss that big-ass ridge. Just throwing it out there...

Starting at SJ TH. It's a long climb to the start of LP, but it's a great tour of the southern SA mountains, and just exciting enough in many spots of DH. Yes, there is HAB but very little uphill pedaling once on the ridge.

I could do it any of the three weekend days.

 

@Cougar - if you have a full day pass don't sit there watching the fora. Go ride!!! Sheesh.

 

I'll throw one out to see if any interest.... reach three flags I know of in the Santa Ana foothills.
1) Fossil hill flag.... above Santiago Truck Trail. This hill is the one the STT skirts around before dropping to the start of the Luge. The side trail going up to the flag there is steep, probably HAB for most, but not too long. View is big. Short fun decent back to STT.
2) Luge flag
3) Bell Ridge Flag... This would be more challenging to get to, probably drop Luge (or cadillac) down to O'Neil park. Then climb up through Robinson Ranch (some pavement), then Bell View trail, then Bell Ridge. Going up Bell Ridge trail is pretty tough, mostly hike a bike again. The flag is just past the Ding Dong trail turn-off. Return via Ding Dong and O'Neil.

The only other flag I know of out in mountainbiking territory in OC is the one in Santiago Oaks, but that's a bit of a stretch for me to get to in one day. Any others? Any interest?

Just don't insist on being the dude, of any ethnicity, in the pink tutu. It's contra-indicated.

 

Local Laguna ride on Sunday. Aliso early (three drops and a cholla and Mathis climb) then hop over to LWP via stairs or Telonics (at 815 ish) out to Nix, reverse Camarillo, lizards, drop rattle, up to ticketron, up to fence line, reverse fence line, drop TnA, then home. Leave my pad at 7. Should be a four hour ish ride. Quick pace.

Monday, not sure.

 

Probably not a death march, but I'll hit the local trails... On a bike with suspension and gears!

Though a lot of kids in the neighborhood have asked if it's my wife's bike. (-_-!)

Decided on Wrightwood monday morning! Several friends joining me. Probably get in 3K climbing approx. Should be great weather!!
