I finally have a free Saturday so I'm heading up to Acton Trail for some more brush clearing with my mini-beast. It's been over a month since I've been up there but BikeMonster and his crew of trail elves have been up there twice during that time so I'm anxious to see how much more trail those guys have made!

I'll leave from the mine road at about 8:00 a.m. but no hiking this time! I bought a used B.O.B. trailer a couple weeks ago! After 2 BOB qr's both came up short for my old Trek ex9 (they don't make one long enough) I put in an order for a 12mm robert axle project qr for my new Intense that will hopefully arrive on time and work! If not, the stock qr that came with the trailer fits my wife's bike so I'll ride that with my knees in my chin if necessary!

I would love to have as many of you as willing to come join the fun! Just like last time, you can start on Aliso Cyn or at the ball park for a good ride and work the trail as long as you wish. AT does not have a pancake breakfast or free lunch for it's trail workers. The only people who work it are a few from AV, SCV, SFV and BikeMonster who comes all the way from Thousand Oaks! More people involved would greatly accelerate the pace to bring this trail back from the dead and stretch it to the top! If you've ridden this trail you know it's potential and unique character so if you feel inspired to get a great ride and create some more trail, come on out this Saturday!

My brush cutter will cut that poo-dog down to size! Looks like a little rain is coming Wed. and Thurs. so we'll have hero dirt to ride and work on! Who else is in? There will be 3 McCleods for the dirt, loppers for what the cutter misses and whatever tools you can bring. We'll need people to clear cut brush off the trail too so you don't even need a tool to help out!

Acton is in north L.A. county between Santa Clarita and Palmdale along the 14 fwy. I think higher tech people than me have pinned it in other threads for the exact location. The trail is about 10.2 miles currently and we hope to make it about 10.4 on Saturday!

Just so you know Dave you and Greg will be the first ones there, and Greg will be hauling his trailer, so it will be the two of you for a couple of hours, and I'm not sure where the tools have been stashed. Greg are you bringin your McCloud?

I guess I could stop at the area I think you mean, unstrap it and leave it on the trail for ya:confused: but then you'd have to bring it up to the end with you on your bikeo_O! Or you could hike down with it at some point during the day and hike it back up. You see the McCloud kind of sits on top of everything else to keep it from bouncing so option 2 would be better. We'll see how the day goes!

Never mind, I was thinking of getting another one at some point for middle work. It's going to the top and I can hardly believe it!
