Was kicking around the idea of this one, but have a PITA flu since Wednesday. Not debilitating, low-grade fever, coughing up chunks. Sucks to be me. Hope everyone is having fun out there, can't wait for the RR w/pics!

It was a full value day filled with riding bliss and punishment. I can't imagine Mikie won't do a real report. Thanks to Mikie, Cisco, Ross, Dave and Cougar for the trail time! Cheers!!

He's still breathless. 4000 ft climbing in 8 miles will do that to you!

 

Got home at 7:22 nearly 3 and a half hours to get home. Watching the Wizard of Oz with the misses!

 

That was one hell of an effort, Mikie. You get an award for the driving alone. Cisco and Ross also. Damn proud

There was a cute little dookie in the HJ parking lot...just for you...

Six men started
up the un-Holy climb,
17 switchies keeping the time
Five men on the peak,
facing wind and cold
Time to face Joplin
Four riders were bold
Is it a trail
or a rut full of rocks?
If you're here to ride Joplin
Better cinch up your jock!
Joplin fought back
A couple went down
Crashing on boulders
or on the cold hard ground
Old Camp was pleasant
as we collected our wits
We looked Roxy,
but didn't see any shits!
On to Cadillac
our rutted way down
we survived the chasms
with yells of delight
The road back to HJ was filled with tall tales
Testosterone boasting and component sales.
The epic was over
time to drive home
and listen to the cracking,
resetting of bones(J/K)
They call him Holy, but he's a bastard to me
His buddy Joplin, had me on one knee
I'll be back, and he'll need a nurse
But Joplin still waits
it's boulders a curse

 

I wish I could have, but as of now I would have been a big boat anchor.

I'm sure Mikies cooking up a proper RR. I gotta thank Mike for puttin this one together! This a real deal ride. No choice but to be at the top of your game, up and down! No ride would be worth it w out some carnage which I found myself the victim of half way down Joplin going otb through the boulder field!

Well worth the trip! Great crew to ride w and met some imtb folks I have not yet met, Mike,Cougar and Knucklebuster!
