And I was complaining about my 29° morning.

 

In other news/people suck:

Early this morning someone tried to steal my bike by breaking out the back hatch window of my vehicle. Parked in front of where I live. I keep the frame and removed front wheel chained to the seat post so they didn't get anything. Still it will cost $675 to replace window.

 

Wow, people really do suck. I carry mine in the back of my car like that but rarely leave it in public. I usually cover it up with a blanket if I do.

747 pretty much invented the cattle car era.

Not many people anymore who are so important that they aren’t allowed on planes with less than four engines, and the only place left that still requires four engines is Antarctica.

 

Sorry to hear. The even more unfortunate part is if you keep storing the bike this way, the thief will no doubt be back and more prepared with bolt cutters next time. Time to start bringing the bike inside at night.

Bike thieves (and attempted bike thieves) suck.
They built them for 54 years and I've never been on a 747. But, I have been on DC-10's and L-1011's. Pretty sure no more Lockheeds left and DC-10's might only be cargo and firefighting.

 

I worked on the wing join on the MD-11 line (replaced the DC-10 when McDonnell Air merged with Douglas Aircraft). Cogitate on that, and shudder.

 

I worked in the building right above the 747 line. They looked so small from up there. There was the sound of bucking rivets all day long. I Wass lucky and got to design the last mod of the 747 into the Dreamliner

 

I figured out why the wife never says anything about my bikes, or parts, or other bike related equipment. . . .

Clearing out her workshop, I counted 7 saddles. English, western, trail, and who knows what other type. I'm glad she's not into show horsing around, those can get to 28k......

 

Q: How do you piss off @Faust29?

Oh man, that hurts.
My wife "only" has four machines. A regular sewing machine, a travel sewing machine that does some stuff, a really nice embroidery machine, and a semi-long arm machine.
The long arm retailed for ~$20k, she got it for like $6k (that's all she'll admit to) from a friend who passed away from cancer and left that deal in his will. (His widow was all for it).
I kept telling her I wanted a new bike that cost half as much. She was like, "No way, that's too much money!"
I got my Epic for only $2200 to replace a 16 year old $800 HT. Only took a few sentences to point that out to her.
Then, she brought up my $7k retail road bike. So, I reminded her I won it in a $35 raffle and can barely afford to keep it in Dura-Ace parts.
Bikes are Soo much cheaper than sewing/quilting/embroidery.
(Don't even need to mention a friend whose wife does show jumping. His Sprinter and bikes are soo much cheaper than her F350 dually, trailer, tack, feed etc. Though, they are pretty well off)

 

To get to the one that died

I was running in the back bay one time and went through one of the shortcuts and came to three huge ones on the ground... Around something..

Me? Or are they a bit intimidating? I felt like I entered the wrong hood!

 

I didn't ask. They had a bunch of friends with them that looked like they were up to no good.

 

Poppy people banned from Walker Canyon this year. Can we ban the covid hikers too?

In other news - there was a football game this afternoon. Pretty good one, actually.

 

Actually a pretty good game. Watched it with a pretty nice view too.
