Trivia time - what sound is Peter Hook known for? No peeking at the Google machine! Almost as identifiable as Dave Evans' guitar sound (The living Dave Evans, not the dead one).

 

Did he come up with the spray paint sound for Joy Division?

whatever it is, thank goodness he was a better musician than writer. Because he can’t write for Sh!t.

 

Never heard of the "spray paint" sound of Joy Division. If I knew what that was, the answer might be yes. His signature sound was even more prominent in his "New" band after JD.

 

I don’t want to speak for anyone else. But, I love the way they speak to the outsider ego of me…

Been listening to a lot of this lately. Love it! Sure he sounds like Billy Corgan and Bob Dylan had a baby. But damn - the earnest energy!

Peter Hook is known for being the bassist for Joy Division and New Order. Didn’t know he was playing in California.

 

Yeah - his lead bass lines with chorus effect pedal became iconic and clearly identifiable. And he was featured in the OC Register today.

Not super into rap, but I always liked this song. R.I.P. at only 59.

 

Pendulum did a secret set at this years Reading Festival in the UK, I reckon these guys are epic live. Can't even hate on them for being Aussies . The energy from the crowd is intense!
A word of warning this is most definitely not music for those types that prefer to listen to elevator music

 

Who knew how deep you could dive on YouTube...how have I never heard this before? Willie-Snoop-Kris-Jamey: Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die. Oh lordy! What a fun trip that was.

 

Took my cowgirl to her first concert - Alan Jackson. He is such a pro. Sounded amazing and more than anything I just loved every second of watching my little one taking in the whole experience and singing every word! And the cherry - when we walked into the venue some lady with Alan Jackson marketing credentials walked up to us and handed my daughter a gift back she said “Alan wanted little ones at the concert to have”! The bag included a signed poster! How fn cool is that?

 

Very cool. I’ve seen Alan Jackson a few times over the years and he’s always put on a great show. Classic country lives on!

 

Sad day. RIP, Loretta Lynn, one of the last true icons of country music's golden age.

 

If you have Paramount+, the Taylor Hawkins tribute show from Wembley is worth a watch.
