Well, if you listened to the dealers, they are charging over Sticker because the buyer could easily turn around and sell it for more than they just paid for it.....thus the dealer wants their share of it.

 

Well, I didn't listen and didn't pay any markup. That being said, my car will be worth $6k more than I paid for it as soon as I drive it off the lot!

 

While Firstborn and I are home, the rest of the nuclear family is in PHX with a broken down vehicle. Hopefully they can get it fixed and out by Wed when it is supposed to really heat up! Dealer couldn't work on it till maybe tomorrow, the recommended indy is booked till Wed, and the random indy took it in today but no promise can get to it. Fingers crossed they can and an easy fix (could be straight forward to full on borked)! If you're interested you can read the saga here.

 

LOL, that color is horrendous. I don't blame his wife.

 

Would have been much cheaper and easier to do a quick wrap and tell the spouse it was traded in for something she would like.

 

I didn't think wraps were too expensive, but a friend says he's gonna wrap a brand new Tesla 3 and it's $2500.
Is that normal, seems like a lot to me.

 

Not sure, but still cheaper than buying a new Q8!!!

 

Sounds affordable compared to a decent paint job.
Here's my buddy's last two SEMA cars. They're both wrapped and are (were) both daily drivers.

 

It's polarizing for sure, and while I'd never choose it for myself, I'd totally drive this rig.

He seemed pretty unphased, but I think it was part color, and part the car itself.

I think a good wrap would be $3K+, probably even more on a car that size.

 

A friend from of mine bought a new Bronco and he said he sold it back to the dealer for $80K, I don’t believe this. The dealer then would sell a used Bronco for $90+K?

 

Car is here in the states. Dealer told me another 7-12 days.

 

Dealer called, Jeep is at the dealer. I am going to pick it up Tuesday.

 

Here's my little tale from the weeds. I'll try to keep it brief. Been interested in a Telluride. Rarer than hen's teeth and all marked up around $10K over sticker. Must pre-purchase and wait for it to make it through the pipeline. Well, no thanks. Then Tues., get an email ad from the local Kia dealer... Pre-4th of July sale, pre-order at MSRP, no market adjustments!! No other limitations in the ad although there are 2 vehicles (not Tellurides) shown for lease below. Tried the chat window with "Jennifer". Got "here's the Tellurides we have in stock, when do you want to come down, give your phone #. Not interested in these vehicles, not what I want, I want to know if I can order one to my specs at MSRP, the ad's not clear. Chat window closes. End of encounter. In my email is a message from Jasmine, dealership salesperson. What's my phone number, when is a good time to come in and see our inventory of Tellurides? Again, you don't have what I want. Can I order one? Never hear back. Sooo... I click through on the pre-order ad and get another ad with Telluride and other models in the picture indicating that I can fill out the form and pre-order my car. Which I do. It allows me to build my Telluride. Awesome, but clearly too good to be true. And so I haven't heard anything about that one either. Fine print says lease deal on the 2 cars in the ad ends today. Nothing about the pre-order deal. If it even really exists. Had planned on waiting it out until things straighten out a bit with supply and demand. Weird position of preparing to act, while not hoping for a recession, in the event that one comes somewhere down the line. Back to that plan now. Hoping not to get the phone call that my car is ready but it doesn't qualify for the advertised deal (that's mostly tongue in cheek by the way).

 

That was relatively quick.

 

Kia's and Hyundai's are crazy right now. Thoese dealers think they are sitting on a goldmine.

 

And I guess as long as they have a line of willing buyers with money to burn they can press their advantage. I see how shitty they are treating me when they even bother to respond as I look in an ever expanding radius for something resembling sanity. I think the pendulum swings both ways eventually and since I don't need a car I can give them the bird and wait for them to start having to woo customers. And then I will be the one not to give an inch.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. I'm seeing used Mavericks listed for $42k! WTF? Barely paid that for the Titan.

 

You know he’d never tell me the truth, so I wouldn’t waste my time asking.

 

Jeep was definitely pretty screwed up on how it treated its order customers. People who ordered last year are just getting theirs in the past several weeks. But seems like they pushed through the March and after orders pretty quick. 2.5 months for me seems reasonable.

 

The Telluride is a convincing copy of a Volvo XC90. At some price point, it’s best to just get the real thing.

 

@blixet, if you really want a Telluride, let me know. I have a good friend who is well connected with Hyundai. I believe he has a connection with a dealer in Westlake.

 

Order this beast in February. Just took delivery last Friday. I will post some ride reports soon.
