That is nuts… Honzo, Sirius, and a host of others I’d look at first.

I’m shying away from the idea as a whole at the moment, but the bike that has led the charge in the fantasy purchase is the Nimble 9.

Wait a minute @Faust29 - let's talk about dynamic sag! My rear end sags (snicker, tee hee) when I ride the bike, thus making my front even slacker. Sure my fork compresses a little too, but it all stays fairly even. Your rear stays erect, er firm, er doesn't compress, but your fork does, so that steepens your head angle!

    BOOOM - Mic drop!!!!!

When you boys finish jousting with your head angles, let’s get out there and ride some steepies.

I think Herzy should bring his saggy rear end (we won’t judge) back to the San Gabes…

I sort of misspoke here. Looking at it again the build came to $4,900, and $600 of that is in the I9 wheel upgrade. Still, a very spendy steel SSHT. Still a pass.

Why is GG domestically-produced carbon less expensive than imported but steel is more? Because they don’t make the steel? I don’t see the PH following the same value track at the carbon or even the aluminum FS. V1 PH, was the same in that regard – overpriced compared to similar industry offerings.

That looks like a pretty nice frame... In the middle of what's on the market today.

Buy the frame, slap some wheels and parts on and give it a go! Bring it over to the garage and I'll help you sort out the single speed part.

I didn’t catch a frame-only price, but I’m assuming at least 1100, which is what they were in 2018.

My ti semi-custom frame was 1400 USD at the low end; with sliders, tapered HT and overseas delivery still under 2k. Point being, I thought steel hardtails were supposed to be rigs you could cycle in and out of the quiver with minimal commitment.

This... ^^^ The Honzo is around $600, and even the Canfield that Bug mentions is around $900. Chameleon is now in that range as well, after jumping $200 during the pandemic.

The Moxie made the trip from England for under $800 even with the shipping costs. A Sirius may make a similar trip to my garage at some point... Shorter travel steel. :inlove:

No frame-only option for the time being. Someone (possibly a BAMF) on the FB group was insinuating that it's a $1,500 frame, but I have no idea where they got that or if that's substantiated in any way.

The N9 was $699 until fairly recently. Even with Covid inflation factored in I feel like GG has lost the plot with this bike.

$1500 steel frame. If true, wow. I'd get a full custom steel before that. And before that, one of many reasonably priced off-shelf frames.

It sounds like the Guerilla Gravity momentum waned around here. I haven't ridden mine in 5 weeks, but there's a task pending. for which only the GG will do.

I still think the metal Smash is one of the best looking bikes ever... I lost my lust when they went plastic.

As far as the Pedalhead, there are better options out there for less...

I LOVED my bike, and never had a direct need or request go unfulfilled, but I can't help but think they've lost their way a bit. Gone are the days that you can call and shoot the Sh!t with Bailey about your incoming bike. I know there has been a lot of continued turnover in some key customer facing positions, and there are a lot of reports of botched customer service with public (forum and FB) dog-ate-my-homework type excuses. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't lost a little stoke, personally. They like blaming growth and their factory move on a lot of the issues. I can't help but compare them to my favorite snowboard company who are one of the few domestically produced (in Denver, coincidentally) snowboard manufacturers. They grew like crazy, changed factories, and maintained stellar CS all the while. I still talk to the same folks there that I did 10 years ago. But further to what @Faust29 said, I still think you ride the best looking mountain bike ever made.

The regular Honzo is pretty sweet… The Honzo ESD above is a different animal. Slacker, bigger fork, etc.
