What does everyone have planned for this 3 day weekend? Anything exciting? It is a 9 day weekend for me so I plan on getting some miles in.

I've got Faust's ride on Saturday morning, but beyond that I haven't got anything else on my radar. The Path doesn't have anything posted for Sunday yet (listed as TBD), and I'm unsure how much time I'll have on Monday before the family activities start up.

I will for sure ride 2 of those 3 days, if not all 3.

Will you be up there next Friday? Trying to decide between free ride or full DH.

I figure if we get an early start on Saturday, and get 40 miles in, that will leave you free to do a couple big rides later in the day... When Cougar and I are back home and passed out. :gag:

I might do strawberry loop Sunday morning with my hammerhead friends. Still undecided. There's also talk of riding up to inspiration point and doing middle Merrill, sunset and el prieto. It's up in the air right now though.

doing the usual loop one day no plans for the others. Pretty safe bet I'll be out on all three days though.
Might do a abbreviated version of the Faust ride one of the days, bell view and caspers. I'm good for about 20mi. ;)

Not sure, last weekends crash and resulting cuts, bruises & cracked ribs may keep me off the bike for a bit longer. I plan on trying a nice easy spin after work today just to see how bad it feels and go from there...

Thanks h^b... nothing major just took a spill on a easy section of trail doing maybe 10mph if that. Just didn't slide or roll, more like a thud. Chest was hurting and it hurt to breath so after a couple days of self medication(ice cold shocktops) didn't work I finally went to the doc. She said the breathing pain was from pleurisy and did a couple xrays and said there were two possible cracks or contusions and to just deal with it and not over-do it.

Never realize how often you cough or sneeze until you have a couple cracked ribs!
gotta love them cracked/broken ribs. Nothing you can do but deal with it and soften the pain with your medication of choice.

    Had too many...too often...:bang:

Monarch Crest to Agate Creek today, 46 degrees at the start, 18.5 mi ST; tomorrow Little Cochetopa to Crest to Greens Creek (and North-South Fooses Creek weather permitting).

Last week was three days on the CT from Kenosha Pass to Leadville, plus bonus 80-mile day getting back to my car.

Tuesday I'll start working on my Crested Butte list, then Durango.

Sorry, that heat was bringing me down, so I'm staying high in CO. Cheers from Salida...

My old stomping grounds Mike. My first summer job was logging at Luder's Creek (Cochetopa Pass). Started ski racing at Monarch all through HS. Spent my weekends in Salida. Went to college in Durango. All of that before I started mountain biking, unfortunately.

Great riding out there - and those temps! Thanks for posting. Have fun and send more reports and photos.

Herz, you got your mountain fun in here, awesome. CO really gets MTB. Salida is like Downieville x200. Even the coin car wash has bike racks.

I hope yall got a bonus riding day in today.

I did find out why nobody at Absolute Bikes knows anything about Little Cochatopa Trail. It was a nice way to hike to the Crest, but not a bike trail. I actually lost the trail a couple times and nearly bailed, but eventually got straightened out. It must have taken 4 hours to crest the ridge, but the scenery was idyllic and weather good. A breeze and jacket up high.

It was the perfect doubtful and arduous admission to Greens Creek Trail. Greens was the most intense blast of technical riding I've experienced in a trail. It's f@cking relentless for 6.8 miles, and pounding down it on my Bronson was Nirvana. Greens Creek Trail, remember the name for when you're near Monarch Crest/Salida and you need your techno-mind blown. Mine is in pieces...

Phone pix uploads not working this time, bummah
