My ever growing 11 years old son need a new bike, and at 5'2.5" I hope that a size Small should work for his for the next two year.

Does any ne have a modern FS or HT bike that is gathering dust in their garage?
Ideally the bike would have the following:
    - 27.5" wheels (or 29")
    - 1x12 (or 11) driveline
    - Disk brakes
    - dropper post

Please DM in you have a matching bike for sale.

Is an 11 year old really going to notice "modern" over a clearly unrideable non-modern 26er/9 or 10 spd?

I borrowed a friends wife bike, and I can see instant improvement in his speed and confidence. Once he is done with it I got a wife and two daughters who can use a size S bike. It doesn’t have to be a $10k race bike, but I’m looking for something that I’d not outdated on the day I buy it.

Maybe I'm new to mountain biking but I don't see what wheel size or number of cogs has to do with going off a jump like that. All those jumps prior to owning the Mojo3 must all be in my head.

As with adults, the bike can make a big difference. Not everyone has natural talent, kids included. I know this kid personally and he could probably do that drop on a beach cruiser. On the other hand I did not have that kind of talent at his age.

I think the greatest need in kids bike are getting light weight bikes. So many kid bikes are so overbuilt that they weigh more than our bikes.

It took longer than it should have, and cost more then I was planning to spend, but my son is happy, wife is happy, I'm relived...
Now I need to teach him how to ride without hurting himself too much.

It will take a few month before he drop me on the climbs, and a year or two before he get over his fears and smoke me on the descents.

Kids are so much work, Who knew?
