Who’s carving pumpkins?

Curious, what's your game plan for Halloween?
We're leaning towards not answering the door. Maybe leaving a note promising good candy next year.

 

Mamas will have a tray of individually wrapped baggies of candy on the porch. Help yourself at your own risk. We are going to walk around the neighborhood and greet the neighbors Who are out and about. I’m not sure how or if we will collect candy. Towards the end of the evening, We are going to Drive to downtown La Verne and maybe walk around Old [Lordsburg] town to see the decorations. It’s too early to take the kids on bicycles.

 

We've been getting less and less trick-or-treaters every year anyway. This year I'm just going to place a bowl of candy on the porch and play some horror music.

The damn squirrels ate my pumpkin. I used to hunt squirrels...

 

Did they make it look spooky?

 

They worked on it for a few nights, as evidenced by the Ring Cam footage. Once they made their way inside, it was all over for the pumpkin. A couple days later, and it was a saggy gooey mess.

 

That sounds morbid. Time-lapsed footage would be cool.

 

Over the years, my daughter has conspired with her former babysitter/nanny to come up with very elaborate and esoteric costumes. Last year she went as Mettaton Ex (look it up) and the year before as a Luna Lovegood Pop (look it up). Both were amazing costumes worthy of comic book conventions. This year, since there were no local streets shut down as there usually are, she wasn't into halloween. But eventually, she decided to throw together her interpretation of a witch costume. She's off to a party with two other kids that are a part of her cohort. The moms are sitting around drinking wine and chatting. I want no part of that, so here I sit.

 

Squirrels were active in the dark???

 

I had a slice of pumpkin bread, two pumpkin muffins, and a pumpkin spice latte. Does that count?
