If the forecast holds true, then on Weds, the wind direction will shift and the smoke should move out.

That one week closure bodes well I think... instead of something broad like 10/31, it seems like they are just looking at a shorter potential closure. Always look on the bright side, of life...

It also appears that they are adding one week at a time. Who knows when they will stop.

I just got back from a few days up near San Luis Obispo. Specifically Montana De Oro SP mountain biking on the coast. Was able to find a County regional park that had full on camping facilities, El Chorro Campgrounds about 15 minutes inland from MDO. Full hookup if needed, showers, nice bathrooms. There is also Irish Hills to ride in the vicinity, a bit steeper and chunky if that's your need too. Clear air and cool.

Well there are a lot of idiots out there, and I'd like to have some actual forests to ride in so I wouldn't complain (much) if they stayed closed. Will be nice to have them open though....

CNF open except for fire closures, including most trails. Specific list here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/cleveland/home/?cid=fseprd821846

Los Padres also opening except for Monterrey Ranger District. I don't see announcements yet for Angeles NF or SBNF. SBNF should partially open though, except for area around Forest Falls / Angelus Oaks.

Sequoia NF partial reopening. Everything north of Kernville stays closed. SQF fire is still expanding towards Three Rivers. Partial opening Inyo NF as well.

Once it's open I don't think they'll close a forest again unless there is a bunch of new fires to take up resources. The state-wide forest closure resulted from extreme dry conditions combined with no available resources to fight new fires. Now they are getting a number of fires under control, there are likely resources available to take on any new fires that pop up. Hopefully there aren't any new big ones, but we'll see.

There is a smoking/fire ban for all of Region 5 - basically all of California. And Hawaii.

Thanks for posting! That says it is reopened with a few exceptions... just no dispersed camping. SART should be good all the way to THG! So South Fork, Glass, and Post Office sections look open.
