:laugh::laugh: Nah, I'll only be puttin' the hurt on myself - and that's probably not enough for most others to even notice. Besides, Rule#0 = I'm there for the fun.

Spitballin' here. I have the weekend of 10/9 all to myself, and must take advantage. The questionable status of forest closures looms. So, what to do. PCE (too hot?)? Sedona (perhaps also too hot?)? Hold out hope against all odds that closures will lift, and then...... SART, Big Bear, San Gabe epic, maybe even Cannell? Or maybe just ride my usual stuff knowing I can ride as long as I want on both days?

Sedona may be too hot but Prescott and Flagstaff will probably be primo. Aspens should start to turn soon in Flag.

An ambitious idea. Not entirely out of the question. Would require coconspirators.

And some luck with temps. It's usually hot out there this time of year, but can be cool. Don't forget to say hi to @Cougar!

Temps are almost always manageable before noon. Ramps up quickly after that.

Limestone Canyon tomorrow. It is finally open for an access day again. The good news is that all of the fun singletracks are one way due to Covid protocol and all in the direction I like riding them. The bad news is they are still letting 300 people in, by reservation only. 75 per half hour from 8 to 9:30 and I got stuck in the 9:30 group. :bang:

Well, maybe it will be 100 degrees in the canyons and the hikers will run home to their couches.

Well, the plan for Team AARP was to get up into the mountains and ride Big Laguna before dropping down Noble Canyon. The forest service closure changed that so we're moving down the coast to ride Del Mar Mesa/Tunnels.

Thinking of an early ride in Chino Hills SP or Marshall Canyon tomorrow morning. I'll be on the single-speed, and so I'll be slow going up and down. I just need some good, basic ridin' to see if my fitness is starting to come back (or if I can blame the allergy pills). Hoping to get 10-12-ish miles and feel good afterward.

Anyone's welcome to join. Time: pedaling by 7:00 latest.

I can go slow on anything! :D Actually what slows me going uphill are the breaks I often have to take. :gotnothing:

Sedona and Hurricane are only supposed to be in the low to mid-80's next Fri & Sat, 70's on Sunday. We're headed to Moab where it's been in the upper 80's and low 90's for weeks but I just noticed today that it's *predicted* to be in the 60's while we're there....and into the 50's by the time we move over too Fruita.

Tonight Caballero to the hub and maybe looping Eagle rock overlook and back. Since I’m still trying out the @Faust29 SS I might climb up Reseda to dirt Mulholland and then head to the hub. I don’t think I have the legs to climb Caballero on the SS. Mostly fireroad so I’m not concerned about toppling over on single track when I can’t turn the pedals :Roflmao

@Luis you'll find that you can turn the pedals easier than you would have imagined. Also, prepare for some personal KOMs especially on fireroads

Caballero is not a hard climb....just the short section in the middle that is steep. Other than that, you can pretty much sit and pedal up it.

Then again, he did give you the bike with a pretty stout non-beginner gear.
