The wood burns dark and cloaks the rain
See what we have wrought again
    Shadows scrape across the bones
Speak only of stones and home
We seek the sun in endless night
And burn in its forbidden light

From the crown it came down
The beasts gather and turn to form
    Another with in our path
    Bringing the crystal view

Come on down to the sea
    Where our fathers see all
See them all unto the road
Lead us then on the site
    Of war outside the mind
To the world and to our own
I lower down to become this land

    I'll bring a pale shroud
Let's drag it in the blood
    We'll make them see him
    And take him away forever

Waters wash what we have burned
The winter's ash the sky has turned
Mounds of earth we build on high
In barrows our remains shall lie
Trouble sleeps where dead men stare
Across the void we have fallen prey to all

Now I shield the fragile ones
I have offered my own skin
Time must now see this through
I'll do what must be done

The fear in our eyes is clean
    Spider have burrowed deep
And the eggs are all dying
Leaving us within our own fetus

    I will awake
    Crawl down to you
    Reach out my hands
    It all falls away

This is new, but still made me feel 15 years old. Rad to hear these still in proper form after so many years.

I heard this song on KLOS a while ago by The Hu. First thought was why use the same name as The Who? Turns out they are Mongolian and that is what they call their people.
I really dig it. Those stand up bass/violin things are pretty wicked. Went fairly deep into their songs and they are pretty good.
There is even an English version with some dude from some band that is in a movie coming out this file.

I don’t Actually listen to US Bombs but, I did sell this for $46 today.
not a lot of dough, but, a decent amount for a record I don’t care about with an obvious $8 price tag on it.
I love selling old punk records!

New to this thread, and happy to see that you posted this one. Long time JTE fan here, and have been listening to his dad, as well as Townes Van Zandt since the early eighties. Your choice was perfect. One of my favorite songs of his, a beautiful song, and the performance, well, there's some clear foreshadowing of a candle being burnt on both ends. He was such a captivating performer. On a lighter note, here's a brilliant example of taking a different spin on Bruce Springsteen song material:

This may have already been posted or something similar but I spent my Sat. night listening and watching this YouTube video of Chris Cornell doing a lot of covers. He definitely brought a new perspective to the music he sang. It was quiet interesting to hear some of the songs in a Black Hole Sun, Hunger Strike type of tone.

They're not bad at all, I just never got too into them. I think the Stitches are my favorite band from that scene.

Johnny Nash passed as well. A bit overshadowed by Eddie. But brought some of the Caribbean flavor to popular music early on.

John Lennon would have been 80 yrs old today. Wow. Sitting here with a big toe many colors of purple from unsuccessfully trying to avoid disaster. Anyways, whatever happened to love?...
