    Ouch, get some rest, and no more flying young man. Those bars are not that high but high enough to make the landings difficult.
    Happy air, happy landing trails.
    Funny: there is a photo in I rode...today. I commented on the sign. It is at the top of dead cow trail. I went OTB at that spot, cleared the bars with my feet and stuck the landing. Impossible but true. I have witnesses

    Walked into the orthopedist office yesterday and there’s a short line of folks getting covid tested...I was not happy to see that.:gag: But it turns out that they’re testing all patients before surgery.:sick: So I probably didn’t just get exposed...

    break is clean but not too displaced. Doc and I talked a bit, surgery wouldn’t be recommended if he didn’t think I was at risk of doing it again...So Surgery is Monday.

    I’m seriously hurting from the muscle damage though...only made it a half day at work, not moving is good.

    The GP who did my preop physical wanted to talk MTB with me. Ok...

    Doc: “I’m selling my bike and getting a new one.”

    Me: “cool...”

    Doc: “I’m getting one of those electric ones. I’m tired of pedaling.”

    Me: :speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless:

    Doc: “I want a Yeti”

    Me: “that’s funny, you are the right demographic for a yeti.”

    Doc::speechless::speechless::speechless:

    Me: “I didn’t know yeti made an ebike”

    Doc: “they make an aluminum one. I’m tired of carbon.”

    Me::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless::speechless:

    then I had some blood drawn. Which was way more comfortable.

    That's AWESOME!!!

    I predicted Ibis would introduce their motorcycle before Yeti, but both within this year. And yeah, Pinkbike readers call Yetis "dentist's bikes" - they can add orthopedic surgeons too. :facepalm:

    Surgery seems to have been successful. 7 screws & a Ti plate. The anesthesia wore off overnight so I’m on 20 mg of norco. But already just having the two pieces not moving relative to each other is a big improvement.

    Still, owie...

    the covid nasal swab wasn’t comfortable, but not nearly as uncomfortable as advertised.

    Great! I think you acquired one more screw than I got (insert joke here). I can't imagine trying to heal with one's shoulder in two pieces "OK - hold that position for two months - don't move." I hope the plate and screw repair works as well in the long run as it feels like it does in the short run. I am typing with both hands - pain free - less than two weeks after surgery.

    But yes - owie indeed for at least another week or two. Heal up. Take breaks. Don't rush it, etc. etc.

    Glad you finally got it done. It’s hard to imagine that a fractured clavicle can heal without surgery as almost any movement of the upper body seems to put torque on the clavicle. It’s been just over 4 weeks since my surgery and I’m finally feeling pretty comfortable. A bit longer recovery than @herzalot. I hope your recovery takes the shorter course. Feel better soon!

    Good work, everybody! Heal on up and don't get too crazy. :)

    Are the screws titanium? If not, I hope they used Ti Prep to keep non-like metal cold welding at bay. Raw or polished finish on the plate? :p

    Contoured perfectly for backpack straps. Excellent job!!!!!!!

    Pardon the length of the post, Im trying to kill time here...

    So here’s what I’m thinking about in my norco-addled free time: I want to stick to my plan to get a 50th birthday midlife crisis bike. The daughter chose in-state school, so the cash is available (USC offered a partial scholarship that still added up to a quarter million dollars :eek:). I have some down time to get the Process cleaned up and sold (damaged a grip in the crash, and I think it needs a derailleur hanger).

    It seems like it’s a seller’s market right now, and when it’s time to sell things I prefer to just get it done-first non laughable offer takes it sort of thing.

    Alternatively, my daughter will be living in Poly canyon, so she’s going to need something to ride when dad comes to visit. So I can spend the down time looking for a non-boost 29er frame that fits a 5’3” female.

    the pre-Covid/clavicle plan was a road trip to CO to ride an SB130LR/150 and maybe a GG smash, and a road trip up the coast to take the Ripmo 2 out. Squeeze in a Hightower demo from the Path and done.

    Post crash, I’m gonna dial back the EWS dreams a bit. Ripmo is still an option but I’m thinking that the Ripley/Tallboy/SB130 (no-lunch) zone is more like it.

    So I’m mulling over the following option spaces, one space on the buy side, one on the sell:
    Buy side:
    1. hope that by July I can road trip, and hope that my low-fitness riding impressions are adequate, and that there’s an XL of my choice in stock
    2. just buy the dang Ripmo, a 6 week wait list is not an issue right now
    3. Sell now, and just buy the dang Yeti
    Sell side:
    1. Sell now and be ready to buy ASAP
    2. Don’t sweat it if the Process loses $400-$500 over the next few months, since it preserves the option to wait to buy.
    3. Keep the bike for parts-is shopping for a small 29er non-boost frame with modern geometry a fool’s errand?

    Well... apparently they Don't! :whistling:
    I'm glad I got plated. Although the surgeon said there was no other way in my case as I had made some bone shrapnel, shards, and powder... and they had to get the big pieces generally in the right location...
