Sounds more like jogging weather. Running might make for a cold nose and ears.

Oh, and I like the gang sign you are flashing with your hands in the image. Looks like "29", from 29th street gang, right? :p

I am a product of the 80's so get off my lawn. 80's is when metal was born. 80's is when Valley Girls and Valley Talk came to be. 80's was the best decade in modern history. :p:D:cool::confused::rolleyes:o_O:eek::oops::laugh::gag::geek::Roflmao:):sneaky::thumbsup::whistling::facepalm:

    Jogging is slow running.

    Running is, well, running.

    Sprinting is fast running.

Jogging would be best in cold air to minimize cold nose and ears. OMG, how far do I have to go with this???!:rolleyes::inlove::whistling:;)

I graduated from High School (barely :whistling:) in 1977. So you don’t have to tell me about the greatest era of all time.
So you can put on your jogging shorts, and your fanny pack and just “zip it!”

But you DON’T have to put on that dress tonight, Roxanne.

80's is when metal was born.

The irony of an alleged Sabbath devotee stating this feels like a power chord out of tune. :gotnothing:

Sabbath is the roots of metal and most "metal bands" actually started up in the 70's but it was officially labeled "Heavy Metal" in the early 80's. It rose to fame and became a household phrase then.

There will never be another US Festival and that was when Heavy Metal was in it's heyday.

The musical style of the original Black Sabbath does not fit into the "Heavy Metal" category, IMO. It's something unique that cannot be categorized. Heavy Metal of the 80's was upbeat, comparatively. The next gen Sabbath (Dio) fits better into the 80s metal style, where it was, due to it's upbeat style.

Heavy Metal was coined in the late 60s by John Kay (Steppenwolf) and Lester Bangs (Creem magazine).

Metal music festivals happen nearly every year in the US.

Sabbath is and was metal from the beginning with the title track of the self-named album. Because they don’t sound like the bands they influenced a decade on does not mean they are not. They originated it.

All are free to have an opinion of the arts, but asserting that metal didn’t exist in the 60s and 70s is plain wrong. We lived it, young man.

Understood. But it was not a household phrase until the 80's. That's the simple truth because that is when it became publicly recognized.

If I were to conjure up a catchy phrase right here, right now and then it was applied to something huge in the future, it does not come to life until it becomes a household name. Most of us do not live in the Underground.

Sabbath is far more than just "metal" to me. I refuse to categorize it, but it is clearly the roots of what was to come in the early 80's.

Let's just agree to disagree, like usual.:D

Flashback to 1981. Seventeen year old Rossage and his 16 year old girlfriend are returning from a beach date.
We drive up in front of my house. Dad is on the porch, Budweiser in one hand, Marlboro in the other.
I was a lucky guy and my girl was a cheerleader/dancer. Very fit. That day, she was wearing dolphin shorts and a tube top.
She got out of the car and gave me a kiss. Arms around the neck, body to body, one foot in the air....
I turned to go inside and noticed my dad had gotten up to take a look.
His mouth was open, Marlboro shaking
"Son," he said in his Georgia drawl, and after a long pause and sigh, "Lord have mercy!"

Publicly recognized? Why would I care about pop culture’s reflection of metal music? I care about music, not lemming behavior. :)
