The first time we did this we missed Rocky’s by 10 minutes. Have you ever seen a truck full of grown men crying in a parking lot?!?!

Seeing that my legs quivered a bit on some punchy sections of the Floop ride I’ll go with a hard no. I’m still doubting my riding shape for Cannell!

 

Can't do the 12th, wifey's b-day. Probably would not be a good idea to ride all freak'n day long.

 

Last year I conditionally met 2 of the 6 rules. I’m just curious what Zilla has in store this year.

 

This ride sounds interesting. I don't have a dog in the fight over the date but you have my attention.

Speaking of missing food, a number of years ago I did a canyoneering day trip in Utah. 14+ hour day, got back to the parking lot Sunday night well after everything had closed. Hours to anything edible that would be open that late in Utah, probably would have to drive to Nevada to eat in the middle of the night. We had to get back to work in a few hours anyway in California Monday morning so we would be driving through the night.

Only food we had left in the cars was some rolls and canned tuna in oil. Sitting on the parking lot late that night never did tuna on bread taste so good.

 

First off... dump the Wrightwood 50 ...

Second off, this is not a hard ride, it’s just a long day in the saddle. I take 100 oz laced with Tailwind and have gotten through each time.

But it is a long day in the saddle.

If we do have to go another day ( which kinda defeats the fun of catching a lot of folks on the B4B ride, I don’t care what day it is. I just need to know if it fits in my crazy schedule for the next couple of months. Gonna be out of town a lot both on business and on vacation...

 

Best single day ride of the year.

 

I will have to go back and read through and see what kinda headcount there could be.

This is a self shuttle....will have to figure out logistics if the group gets too big. There is no paid shuttle, no one rides for free. You'll most likely be driving up the mountain...either first leg or second.

Fortunately it still a ways out.

 

Surprise! There is another SART epic happening on the B4B day, and it’s gonna be saucy.

 

Yes I did! It was when all the elitist mtb'rs were leaving the FLOOP parking lot! Or was it when they rolled into the parking lot?!?!

 

I'll take a little Floop bashing... It was better than I expected.

The only spot I got a little nervous (only watery eyed, no tears) was crossing Harbor. That's scarier than the tennis moms in their Range Rovers coming out of Dove Canyon.

 

It's all about the timing.

 

Can't do 10/19 but the other 2 dates look good.

 

Catching up to a fellow nutjob and telling him to go faster or get out of the way...

 

I imagine a lot of people here are going to bail when the ride specifics are released, such as meet time and roll times.

I could probably do the 19th or 2nd. Definitely out for the 12th as out of town for anniversary. This would be a fun ride to do if it ends up on a weekend I can make.
