    When: Friday, June 21st
    Time: 6pm
Where: Xmas Tree Farm at Blackstar Cyn Rd and Silverado Cyn Rd
    Ride Description or Details:
    Continuing my new tradition.
How about a gathering for the Summer Solstice and the beginning of summer? Sunset is at 8:04 pm and the actual Solstice is at 8:54 am.
I am a slow climber and plan to start at 6pm in time for sunset at Beek's. You may start then or later or take a different route. Basic idea is to be at Beek's before sunset.
Bring some of your favorite libations and we can toast the sunset and perform whatever Pagan rituals you believe in at Beek's for the Solstice.
Others can certainly join us by coming up from Skyline or other areas.
You can do any extra credit you like. Some may take singletrack options on the way down.
Probably want lights for the descent.
Moon will be waning gibbous at 84%, if no June gloom.

Can't believe it has been two years since I did the first one. I haven't gotten any faster, but I did buy a light, so I think I’ll try and keep up...

And there's no sand pits like Pioneertown. :p Just a mellow ride up the mountain... And maybe a beer at the top while you take in the views. Optional single tracks on the way down.

Not sure if anybody’s mentioned... watch out for the ticks... I picked up a couple of hitch hikers at 4 Corners the other day.

I always wash my gear - as soon as I get home - on the long cycle... One of the little bastards survived that. Luckily it was crawling on a white T-shirt so I saw it immediately...

You can always get a spot in Blue Jay and ride around the San Juan area. But otherwise the Trabuco Ranger District does not allow dispersed camping anywhere outside of the San Mateo Wilderness... which you can't take your bike into.

[EDIT] That's not to say that I haven't run into tents early in the morning on Harding and Four Corners. And I know that people frequently overnight at Old Camp.[/EDIT]

Back to the subject of this thread. I'll be there!

Bumping this up for those who may have missed it initially. Too much fun to miss. I'm gonna make every effort to be there, but it depends on the wife's recovery from her knee replacement. Obviously she comes first.

The wife says she's okay with me doing this, but final decision will be Friday afternoon. After two weeks not riding, this will probably be my slowest ever trip up B*.

The weather gods do not like me putting on these rides. It's either 100 º or cold and rainy.

It rained at home and at work this morning; I don't think as much up in BStar.

If it is muddy; I will not ride a mile too far.

    This Afternoon
Mostly sunny, with a high near 61. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
    Tonight
Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. South wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

    Wind should dry most moisture.

Hope to see people out tonight.

I agree, the breeze should be drying everything out.

It's neither cold nor rainy. 67* with a light wind.
