For drivers training I got to drive a blue nova..that thing was a beast!

 

I’m starting to feel kind of normal after my Yosemite project. I got a serious left forearm pump pressing strings on the fretboard today...SNPA helped me recover.

Acronyms are fun... SWAT, NAFTA, BAMF. But SNPA would be a mere abbreviation. Unless we say snappah. : ) Obscure, yes, not really fair on that one.

Dedicated bass player joins today. Which means two regular guitarists besides me. Which means easy axe duty for me. Which means...faux frontman time. I didn’t join to be a vocalist. Rain in Lanzhou has postponed my ride... Guess I'll swap the BB-5 cable disc brakes for my old M785s.

I belted out some tunes back in the late 80s-early 90s as lead screamer for Jesus Manson and the Disciples. Obviously didn't get too far but we had a lot of fun.
Tonight I can relive the glory days as I sing classic rock songs at karaoke.

That's what I do. Give up my weekends for good discounts on parts and bikes.

 

Normally I have weekends off, so it doesn’t bother me when I work on a sale weekend.

The last of the cassette tapes fell apart long ago. But depending on how my return engagement goes tonight.... You never know.

The voice that was politely asked to leave the 3rd grade elementary school chorus and not return. Hmmm... Maybe I'll subject @mtnbikej to some in-car singing on the way to Koko. I don't think I was quite as bad as my cousin (the chorus teacher) said I was.

And rain for the third straight day in Lanzhou. No riding but I might be able to check out some bike shops.

Anybody up for a plate of spicy insect? Stir-fried with veggies and hot chiles, they are actually quite tasty. These are actually 3 year old, farmed, silkworm pupae. One more season and they would have escaped the wok...

I didn't ride my bike because I went to OTH last night, wife said she was going with my daughter to do their nails and hair so they weren't going to be home till later that night : )

 

Rain, rain, rain...
Pretty sure I have been rained on every single day of this trip so far-19 days!
My wife woke up this am and said "sorry" as if it were her fault. It's not, obviously.
I have the rain gear but no one wants to ride.
At least my old hardtail got upgraded to XT 10spd and XT 785 brakes. The in-laws can enjoy it.
Tomorrow I will fly back south, near Hong Kong, and the forecast is for more rain. I don't have a bike there so bring it on!

 

It turned out to be "family day" after work and school so no riding for me.
