https://www.maxxis.com/catalog/tire-280-140-aspen I've been running this tire on the back of my Hightower and really like it. I've run it across short sections of sharp rock used to stabilize train tracks in Ridgecrest and was quite surprised how well it held up.

Yes that tire is amazingly tough, but traction on steep stuff is not the best.

    All 3 are good.

My hesitation with ordering from overseas is sometimes they take forever to show up. Also what you save on the cost of tires, usually gets eaten up by the high shipping costs.

The ".de" domain name means Germany... Deutschland. I've ordered from bikecomponents.de, but you really have to watch for something that is discounted heavily, or order a bunch to cover the shipping which usually starts at $20.

Guys - The Path sent out an email earlier this month for 25% off the purchase of up to two tires. I would just tell them about the coupon or mailer at the register, then they will give you the discount (they never asked for the actual emails when I have done this in the past). If anyone needs the email just let me know and I will forward it to you. That is a pretty good deal, and keeps it local. Offer expires 4/30.

The Tustin shop might have a better selection. I was in the Trabuco store and they didn't have much.

I mounted the Rekons on my Enduro. Wow! Great climbing tire and pretty decent grip on the downhill. Just a little sketch on the high speed loose over hard. Maybe I was running too much pressure.
I might order the 2.6 for the front though.

They spelled Ferrari wrong, and they put the fork arch on backwards!

(OK Smartass comment aside, looks like a fun and functional ride.)

@Mikie . After each day of riding, is there a station where we can lube up our bikes for the next day of riding? Trying to figure out if we bring our own lubes, etc.

Yup, they set up three or four bike stands and a full assortment of tools for you to use. They have brushes and lube. If you’re particular about your lube then take a bottle of that.
Other than your pocket tool kit that you normally carry, there’s no need to take any extra tools.

You want a skill that's great when you're fighting with your wife? Just pop off a phone number from a girlfriend you had in the 1980s... Works like a charm! :p
