UPS are you for real?

As people know, I love my UPS peeps. Today I got to experience a new level of service. I have an important document coming that requires a signature, and UPS is giving me LIVE UPDATES on a map to show me exactly where the truck is, and how close it is to my house... so I don't have to sit around all day wondering.

...But I did save a bunch on my car insurance.

 

When live tracking was in beta a couple of years ago I had made an overnight delivery to the house next to a lady who was waiting for her new iPhone. Her first thought was I delivered it to the wrong house but live tracking showed it was still on my truck so she hunted me down. When I asked her how she knew where I was she told me about the beta program and showed me my location on her phone. We've had the technology for at least 10 years. I'm surprised it took so long for them to incorporate it.

I wish Ontrac would use this, then I could see which door they drop my Jenson purchase at rather than having to go door to door looking for it.

 

I've had OnTrac re-route my orders to NorCal on two occasions on deliveries that should be going 50 miles SOUTH to Oceanside. On two other occasions, they just threw the box on my driveway in plain view of anybody driving or walking by 20 feet away. This happened in 2017/2018 and I called Jenson directly to tell them how bad OnTrac is. They said they'll change my delivery preference to UPS and that seemed to stay in effect for about a year. I noticed yesterday that OnTrac delivered my latest 2-3 orders. I least they left the packages at my front door.

 

I'd just be happy if they slowed the truck down... It would lessen the impact when they launch my package into the front door.

 

The Safeguard windshield replacement company has that feature also. You can track the driver to see if he makes a stop at the local dispensary or strip club along the way. I mean, what the driver does on his “lunch break” is his business, right?

 

I got some video last time he came through...

 

Sitting in my living room and someone comes to the door. No knock, just drops a box. I get up, check the package and realize it isn't mine.
I call out to the driver going down the stairs "This isn't mine. You got the wrong address! "
"I just deliver where the GPS says..." he yells without turning around...
As the package sails over his head and onto the sidewalk.
"You're not even on the right street!"
Guy picks up the package, looks at the address and starts looking to the sky with his arms extended... WTF!?!
"Is that your GPS?"

Ontrac - I get more professionalism from pizza delivery dudes and dudettes!

 

AAA has the tracking feature as well.

 

I had a couple of bad experiences with Ontrac as well. Evertime I order something and there’s a chance to leave a note for the vendor, it’ll be. “Please don’t sent it Ontrac”.
Time to change the thread tittle, I guess.

 

I'm always the outlier....I have never had a bad experience with Ontrac.
