Follow up: I ended taking waaaay to much THC. While it zapped the arm pain nearly immediately and I went right to sleep, I woke up a bit later and head was spinning. I re-checked and actually took 2mg not 1mg, but it messed up my sleep as it must have been pure sativa strain. I am VERY sensitive to THC. So head was spinning for a three hours, then went to sleep, but wasn't great sleep.

I'm in the same boat, opposite effect. Weird how it makes some sleepy and some hyper. I fit into the hyper column.

I'm like that with melatonin and dextromethorphan as well, so am not surprised. They will keep me up all night like caffeine.

Wow, that's extreme. Melatonin is one of the sleeping aids I occasionally use and it works. But I have to be careful and take it well before bedtime otherwise I am groggy in the morning. Same with drowsy type anti-histamines.

Perhaps you should power an espresso before bed to help you sleep?:D

Sativa = energy good for day time
Indica = chill good for nighty night

CBD w/ THC Sativa dominant is most excellent for day time adventures. 1:3 ratio

Another vote for cannabis-derived compounds being a magical-mystery elixir: Yesterday at work my ring finger blew up and started hurting crazy-bad. It's been nearly three weeks since I hit a cactus, but I guess it took that long for the toxins from the splines to kick in. Anyway, it hurt so bad I could barely focus. Just on fire, and knife-pain if I touched anything with it. Started getting a headache due the pain, and just generally miserable.

Got home, took some CBD, and within 30 seconds the throbbing started decreasing. Not fast enough though, and I went for the big guns with the 1:1 THC:CBD drops to finish it off. Which it pretty much did. I could close my hand into a fist for the first time that day within a minute. I think the swelling started going down pretty quickly as well, but not sure.

That got me to where I could function again, and went to the Dr. for an after-hours appt (love those at Kaiser!). Some sulfa, some prednisone, and 24 hours later the swelling is gone and I feel like I did before this flair up.

Dr. said don't dig around to try to pull them out, just let 'em fester out. Must be patient, must be patient...

It's odd how differently people react to different types of weed. Indica is a rollercoaster ride to me, not a sleep agent. It's like being Sh!t-faced on whiskey (a wild ride). Other types of weed can mellow me out though. And still other types have made me hyper and want to do stuff and be creative.

It was a jokey reply, but a true story. I have not bought or consumed wine since last time when I got my ass handed to me, maybe 18 months ago. :geek:

I have been getting mixed results from CBD. I've been getting minimal results from the two balms I've used. About the same as using Tiger Balm. The 1000mg oil is about the same.
I get the best results from THC/CBD mixed gummies. Usually only 1-3%THC mixed in so you don't get the head high. I chew 40mgs and in 30-40 minutes, I can feel the muscles in my lower back loosen up and the pain is gone.

Does your cbd balm have thc? I’ve found that the cbd balm with thc works much better. More expensive but the cbd balm alone doesn’t do much for me. With the thc it’s magic.

The balm is pure CBD. I think that's the problem. There are some new studies that are showing better results from THC/CBD mixes.
Maybe I can mix in some of my THC coconut oil and make it work.... :D

Ditto for me with the CBD salve, I don’t notice a difference when I use it on the knee. I’ll try the THC infused next time!

This stuff is high THC, and works well for muscle pain. I can't honestly say if it's the chemicals in it, or the action of massaging it in that relaxes muscles, but at the end of it, muscle pain is gone!

Wouldn't the "edibles" that have been around forever now, have the same effect?

My point is, if you are going to use a CBD product that contains THC, why not just toke out instead? If the smell is a concern, then why not simply consume edibles?

Smoking is not desirable to many, and it’s difficult to dose correctly. There are tons of new CBD products now.

Good point, and... maybe? That's why I couldn't definitively say it was the chemical content vs. the actual massage that helped the muscle relaxation.

Could be snake oil, right 'Charmer?

I was a "toker" until vape oils came out. SOOOOOO MUCH more discreet, efficient, odorless, and it's much easier to get the right dosage. No reason for me to toke out now.
