I second all of these sentiments! Seems to me like the Smash should be a different category...very close to XC pedaler with full on Enduro DH capacities (downduro? Crossfire? maybe just true “trail” bike....)

I'm sure the Smash C will be impressive, but I'm having too much fun to give up my short stays.

Welp, here we go again. Trigger officially pulled on a Revved Trail Pistol. Size 3, short headset orientation, Ride 1 build with X01Eagle upgrade. gnaranium green decals. Stoked, scared, and confused what just happened. Mostly stoked though.

Depravity is right. There is no doubt an impending hangover from today’s decision, but I figure if I was ever considering doing it, there would never be more incentive. TBH I didn’t even ask ETA. Size 3 frames are currently available, and since there’s no powder coat I assumed 3-4 weeks, but that could be presumptuous with the seemingly high demand. Like you said, I’ve got something very special to focus on in the meantime, so if it’s longer than that it might actually be a blessing.

I’m disappointed to see Motörhead re-run on the TP shirt. That’s for Pedalhead!

    Megatrail - Megadeth
    Smash - Clash
    PH -MH
    SD - ?

If the rock theme is it, gotta flush it out. TP should be Sex Pistols. Guns & Roses or Velver Revolver if you must.

There are a lot of conceptual reasons why I like that my bike buying dollars are going where they are, not the least of which is that they help contribute to Marshalls in the break room.

In so cal it typically refers to San Diego. In this context is Shred Dog, but....
I going out on a limb here and don't think this boards demographic would think of Snoop Dog when they hear SD...But hey I could be wrong ( says the guy currently listening to 70's rock :gotnothing:, ah the memories of youth....)

Out of respect to GG, rock and roll, SoCal, and our very own music thread, can SD really be anything other than Social Distortion? There has to be a play on “Ball & Chain” in there somewhere.

My own choice would be a play on Pantera’s “The Art Of Shredding”.

Nice work. That would have been completely lost on me.

I'm frankly surprised at this brand departure, but it works for me – I'd never buy a snoop record or a short-travel 275.

In a way I can see it. Not sure how old the GG peeps are, but I’m 44. As a dyed in the wool metal head I was a big fan of Snoop’s first record (along with Dre’s The Chronic) when they came out, at least in part due to the fact that it was a really dire time for rock and metal. Nirvana hangover period. Pantera’s Far Beyond Driven and Sepultura’s Roots were the only memorable metal records from that time period for me. Those Dre and Snoop records were some of the few that had that rock and roll defiance to them. Maybe the GG folks remember those times and experienced that music similarly. As a terrible aside, in my drinking days I was known for a formidable karaoke of “Gin & Juice”.

Haha... we did survive the mid-90s "death" of R&R. A bunch of my go-to bands were long broken up by then, or fruitlessly rotating personnel, or on reunion tours. I think you're right in there with GG guys, so not surprising. Much as I like to headbang, I could never be a true metalhead. Too much like for alt and other flavors.

The brand amalgam of rock and MTB is a great one. Mostly just because I like both. :geek::thumbsup:

Oh man, had so much fun on The Smash today. The difference in being on an appropriately sized bike (previousbike was too small) was very noticeable. I rode more technical stuff than I’ve ridden before, mainly by virtue of the trail being jacked up from rain, and felt super confident given how long I’ve been off the bike. Cleaned a couple steep, rocky, and rutted ascents that I had not been able to previously, despite them being in worse condition than when I rode them previously. Really really stoked on this new steed, and can’t wait to spend more time on it.

As you get used to Smash it'll probably only get better. Looking forward to reading about some more of your rides.

Yo @mike it seems your boys are doing pretty darn good:thumbsup:. Not gonna lie I prefer the sexy curves and hand built by a real craftsman look of they aluminum rigs they produced but this is impressive. Colorado manufacturing is no slouch and the guys from the little hole in the wall bike building shop should be proud. Hope they sell the crap out of em.
