Blah blah 29ers will never catch on Blah blah never see a DH 29er Blah blah wagon wheels https://m.pinkbike.com/news/bike-check-aaron-gwins-intense-m29-fro.html Check out the 9spd cassette and 223mm brake rotors
Probably should cross post this, since the thread is titled "Gwin" Here are 6 great Gwin moments, courtesy of Pinkbike. Smash, Rain, Chain, Rim, etc. You can skip the Specialized promo video. All it shows is that Gwin struggled to keep the front end down with the short chainstays.
don't we all have big rotors? Or am I just speaking for myself? I just put on new semi metallics and they are so quiet. I really miss my 42 triple chain ring. Things are so much slower now Happy slipping back to the 26er every so just to have a big ring drop trails. But that 26er is so squirrely in just one ride I am back on the 29 again. I used to love that 26er, so quick, so responsive, but now I am lazy as the 29er makes everything so easy, she just needs a 42 triple to come up to speed. Who is the brainiac that thought taking off chain rings was a good thing? Now we only get one 30-10T how is that compared to a 42-11T? Seems like technology took a GIANT step backwards. Can you imagine a 52 or 53T on a 29er? Madness, madness
It's only a 7spd cassette. He's so fast that's all he needs. For the record my DH bike is 7spd also.......
That was cool UNTIL the Athertons said they are not only owning the team they race for they will be selling their own brand of bikes too
119th today in qualifying at Ft. William. 33rd at Lourdes DH earlier this year. Ummmm... I think he's done. Greg Minnaar on the other hand, has his head on straight. Qualified 3rd today at age 41.
He said he flatted during the qualifying run... On a positive note, Rachel Atherton did a non-official run... She'll be back, even after having a baby.
Well clearly he had a problem. Point is, he continues to fade into obscurity for whatever reason. I wish it were otherwise. I don't like seeing people who were once untouchable quickly become irrelevant. He isn't a protected rider, so he won't qualify for today's race.
Lots of pro's not racing today....... Tahnee Loic Finn Miriamm looks like she may give it a go Rachel Brook McDonald was way down the list....not sure if he is protected or not. I haven't watched yet......
I think I am watching it live - and they say Gwin is racing on a damaged ankle. Maybe I'm watching last year's... Yup - I was watching last year's.
I was thinking Andorra was looking a lot like SoCal this week and that could mean good things for Gwin. A 5th place finish in qualifiers is another positive indicator that this weekend could be the perfect course at the perfect time.
