Yeah, that was a MTB trip. This one is my wife’s relaxation/recovery/escape from 60 hour work-weeks trips. This one is from our room at check in.

Yup. Someone plowed right into the pole at the bottom. Newbies think that, since it's just a trail around the city, it's safe...

Here's the area it happened.

 

The Floop has many faces. Some with fangs to bite the unwary.

 

“Oh sh!t” is right! That’s just awful!

 

The hill they're sliding down to gain the speed to hit that pole is actually "off-menu." There is a sign at the other end warning "Steep Grade. Bikes Prohibited."

But people ride it anyway.

 

Hopefully they don’t take drastic measure and close any trails due to a few bone heads

 

You might not have an accurate picture of the Floop demographic.

lol, obviously I’ve never ridden it or seen the trail with my own eyes, only videos.

Yep way more fun being a kid back then...

 

Then again in the 80's we kids played outside all the time......now kids don't know what outside is.

 

The eighties, ho man. Only then could you get pulled over with an open container and drive away with a warning. Maybe it helped that it was a screw top?

 

It also helped that my pops was a member of the local search and rescue team and buddies with all the local sheriffs. They used to hang out at the house all the time and watch him make things out of metal as well as whip up his latest batch of home brew and help him with quality control. There was a couple times though that I was up to no good in my '36 Ford with way to much motor and they had already been to the house to tell my folks what I was doing. My son would never believe any of the stories if I wasn't still good buddies with my main partners from back in the day. I really feel sorry for the young guys today.

 

In the 70s, the cops would join you for a drink....
