  1. I found these cool rotors, and when I say cool I hope cool is the point. Appears to be the factory source for some European brands selling same/similar. I arranged to buy a couple direct from the factory since they do not have USA distribution. Anyone want some? Pm me.

    ?

If they work and make no noise, great. Otherwise, what's the point of using a heavier, uglier rotor?

Where in Whiting and Ladera/Tiejeras Creek are you riding that you need that much brake?

  8. I have had a reoccurring issue burning my brakes up.
I am using Magura MT trail. Front 203mm, rear 180mm. I am 230lb and brake hard and late.

The issue was pretty much solved on the front by switching to Magura “race” pads which are higher metal content.

On the rear I already changed rotor to good old Hayes, which is much more metal than Magura. That did help. but still roast it on steep/fast runs.

  9. Down dreaded: Burnt up
    Down water tank: Smoke show
Down Bake Prky. 40mph to zero: Burnt up
The Luge. Burnt up rear once, but not since changed rear rotor Hayes from Magura
It’s been 6 months, but TNA presented some heat to my rear rotor to.

What can i say, i like a ton of brakes late and hard.

  10. Well you don’t really need any brakes at all on the flooooop so it’s of no concern.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a 140mm rotor.

  12. Ha ha yeah that’s funny. Probably why they appear extra heavy

I actually saw some at my last 12 Hours of Temecula. They stand out. And at 1200 feet of up and down in 8 miles, I can't imagine they last long.

That is the stock rotor on my 2015 Trek Superfly 9.0, and most of the time they do a good enough job stopping my fat a$$.

  17. Yeah but rim brakes on a HT was the best braking performance at one time.

Don't most frames use 160 as minimum rotor size based on the post or tab config?

That is the only frame I ever saw with a 140 rotor.
    The brakes are post mount.

Curious about these. My GF cooks her rotors with them Zee calipers. The blue will match the other anodized blue bits on her bike:rolleyes:.
