Who's Riding Where???

Yep, week day traffic sucks for us 210ers.

I need to be packing it up back at my truck by 11am-noon so I am going to keep it close and do Brown Mountain/El Prieto.

Blasting off from the JPL parking lot (or close by there) at 8:30-8:45 this morning.

I rode this morning, but I'm over in culver city so my weekday mornings are usual around Sullivan Canyon in SM Mountains and they are usual 6am-8 at the latest..

I've yet to ride it as it drops in about 100 yards before Ireland which is an extremely fast trail itself. Sounds like Switzerland is similar with jumps added. I should mention it's a bit of a climb although short to get to the top. I will either have to sacrifice Ireland to try it out or suck it up and do them both.

Looking to ride Wrightwood Sat. Anyone know if the snow is melted? Boyscout, Lepracaun etc?

 

I am relatively certain that the season total snowfall in that area wouldn't pose a problem. They have received 8" all year, all of that was 3 weeks ago. Typically, they get about 100" in a season.

They do have an 18" base of man made snow, so don't try riding on the few open ski slopes!

All of you may find this hard to believe, but I am going to ride locally tomorrow with a couple of friends. Maybe LCWP. Maybe Aliso. Maybe both. Come join me and the 10,467 other trail users that will be out in the morning (and will disappear by afternoon).

I’ll be out at the Non Dot race tomorrow heckling from the top of Saddleback Ranch Rd.

 

Jennifer has been cleared for takeoff so we will be riding Sycamore Canyon tomorrow. She had major surgery (girl stuff) on December 20th and according to her doctor has made a remarkable recovery. Jennifer tells me it is on this year. No more excuses. Beast mode on!

Sunday morning Super Strawberry Bowl Sunday ride. Meet at 7:15 am and ride from Clear Creek junction

 

I'm gonna ride somewhere tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 3). Probably a place I've rarely ridden, with a friend I don't ride with very often.

I think I'll be at the same place, sans friend. But maybe not - I may be at a place I've ridden a lot.

 

Have to work on the house first. Hoping to get out later this evening. Maybe Floop or B* night ride.

It's a different kind of climbing tomorrow.

 

Hmmhhh. I thought all climbing was basically the same.....you go UP.

 

No....on @mtnbikej's rides you go up-down-up-up-down-up-down-down-up-up...repeat as needed. And it's the repetitive short/steep (some not so short) that kicks my a$$. I can climb a consistent grade all day long, but on his rides I'm toast. With marmalade on top.

 

The subject was "climb", not "ride". But thank you for your editorial, just the same.
