You guys are scaring me... Wash those packs, you piggies! I empty my bottles after every ride and rinse/wash them out. When I first started with the magic powder, I noticed that the flavor changed if I kept one too long- even in the fridge. That can't be good... :stop:

Actually just the opposite....works great in the heat. Super thin and wicks the moisture. My wife wore it the other day as a bandanna on her head.

I keep any unused bottles in the fridge....up to about 4 days....after that I usually toss it and start over.

Anyone here use Skratch Labs? For whatever reason, Tailwind doesn't agree with Jennifer. She tried a couple sample packs of Skratch Labs and so far, so good.

I used Skratch Labs in 2013 and 2014 at the 24 Hours at the Old Pueblo endurance races because it was part of my schwag bag. However, I have no useful info for you since I never used it beyond the freebies given to me. I'm just using this as an opportunity to boast about my endurance prowess and that the "Dio Beater Defeater" emerged victorious.

I have used Skratch before, and have a bag of it. It kinda upset my stomach, so gets used only occasionally. Tailwind has been my go to, but I need to mix in the very weak side or it makes me kind of dizzy. I don't know why, but it does.

Lately I'm using Hydration Multiplier from Costco. It was a gift a couple years ago and just in the last few weeks started adding it to the bottle. It has a strong taste, but if I mix at half the recommended than it's pretty good, not too strong and does the trick.

So, bottom line, I'm a Hydration mix Ho and have no loyalty.

Skratch when I just want to hydrate before a ride, Tailwind when things get serious*.

    * Serious for me means over 3200' of climbing. A warm up lap for most of you.

I've been using Skratch for a couple years--products with maltodextrin are hard on my stomach. Skratch recently came out with 'Superfuel' which is 400 calories. I like that it still has a light taste and not tons of sodium. Only tried it on a few long rides, but so far so good. Only con is that it takes 7 scoops for 1 serving, so not cheap. Usually use Skratch to drink and honey stinger gels together.

few drops ginseng in your bottle and your stamina keep longer

Bodybuilders and athletes have found ginseng to be a very valuable supplement for a number of reasons. First, ginseng helps the body adapt to higher levels of stress. Next, ginseng has the ability to increase endurance and help recovery rates. Finally, ginseng is a remedy for fatigue and nervous breakdown.

Ginseng is an adaptogenic herb, which means it helps your body "adapt" or handle stress a little better, and is traditionally used by athletes. Its benefits include strengthening the immune system, increasing disease resistance, increasing stamina, and increased energy levels. It also improves the balance between neurotransmitters in the brain, including dopamine and norepinephrine, and may have positive effects on mood. As written in the product description, the usual dose is 150-450 mg per day, taken in several doses, the last dose preferably no later than 15:00, for two to three months, followed by a four-week break.

There are lots of supplements making lots of claims. Are there any scientific studies to demonstrate safety and effectiveness? Anyone here had good results?

I use a supplement while riding my bike. It keeps me safe on the mountain and alert at night, hyper-focused on the trail while all distractions fall to the wayside.

I'm with Herzy... A chewy before bed and I found myself feeling completely hungover trying to ride the following day. You know you're a lightweight when you can't handle a high times gummy bear.

Although... I did PR Motorway once when I was hopped up on Robitussin...
