Shuttle from Heart Bar Campground to Wildhorse Meadows to Southfork Campground to Hangar 24. Stop at Casa Maya for lunch on the way to the brewery.

Meet Location: Shuttle departs at 7ish from Hangar 24 brewery (Redlands)
Skill Level: Advanced
Ride Pace: Moderate Pace
Type of Ride: Point A to B Shuttle
Rider Limit: Depends on how many shuttle rigs/drivers we get. This started out with 5 riders, then it went to 3, then 2, and now it's gonna be me and my iPOD.
Anticipated Mileage: 50
Elevation Gain: 4,500'-5,000'
Ride Duration: 6-8 hours
Previous Ride Reports: Search keyword "SART" and "Wildhorse Meadows"
Possible Bail-Outs: I don't want to discuss it.
Facilities: Maintain a minimum distance of 200 feet from all waterways.
Food/water suggestions: Lots.

Could u give me some info on that wildhorse loop? Love to add it to the regular sart... Thx!

 

Start at HeartBar Camp and head along Hwy 38 eastbound to Wildhorse Meadows Truck Trail, then head north. 2,000' climbing on mellow grade fire road over approximately 8 miles. Once you encounter a relatively large meadow (you can't miss it; it's awesome), turn left (almost like a U-turn) to head southwest onto a double track that quickly turns into single track. The single track is approximately 8 miles long and akin to SART from Angelus Oaks to Morton Peak but drops from 8,700' to 6,700' amsl.

That's why I'm singing while on the bike! No one has caught me singing though... only sing when no one is around... usually...

 

Church can be a building. Sometimes though Church can also be single track coated with carpet of leaves, the rustling green shade cover, and rock drop that you can jump/hop with speed. .. Oh yeah, where's my Trabuco downhill?? Lizards on a weekday? Heck even some parts of the floop....

I can't remember what happened yesterday, but I remember that song (Hold Your Head Up), riding the bus to school in 5th or 6th grade, in the just desegregated New Orleans public school system. Spent allot of time on the bus then, which was ok as long as we had the tunes playing. I had no idea what the whole busing thing was about.

Oh yeah, back on topic.... Always wanted to do the whole drop from the Skyline ridge above Snow Summit down to the Hangar in the desert. One of these days, I hope.

Burt bagged Sugarlaof peak. Summit plummet for Burt. He's hitting Morton now. Booges bonked, and I spent my time with him, so mission failed. Still fun though. Burt rode the ride I wanted but wasn't able to do. I gotta return and try again.

Failed my ass!!!!! Not everyone gets to be on the summit team; everyone contributes to the tick. Some even rear children simultaneously...which I'd rate as a little harder than summiting. Everyone got home okay? I call success
