I'm gonna suggest the extra credit at the end of the millennium loop because there were people bonking near the end of the ride last time. If we do the extra at the end then you can go to your car and replenish your water or grab a snack. Then do the extra to the M*A*S*H site.

I think last time there were a few that bit off more than they could chew. Like you said it feels like a lot more than the stats show.

Dang it dang it dang it. I've gotta be home by 10:30ish as we have guests tomorrow. Probably gonna get up early and cruise up the old ridge route on the hardtail. Next time.

The drive up there in the morning was a piece of cake. The drive home was rough, but you'll have lots of good memories to make the time go by...

If I hadn't just done 72 miles, and have my kid home from college, I'd be tempted. I had a lot of fun last time, and I admit it. I was in awe of the M.A.S.H site...

Yup, this ride happened. Not gonna do a big write up but I'm just gonna randomly put my thoughts down.

12 riders showed, one got spit out the back and bailed, one hung on by the skin of his teeth. You gotta gave 20 mile and 3K legs otherwise you're gonna be hurting.

The green is here, tall yellow mustard plants, tall grasses, flowers blooming and ticks, lots and lots of ticks.

Part of the ride goes through some pretty interesting California historical sections. The actual spot mentioned is now under the 101 fwy just yards away.IMG_0478.JPG

Ticks are running rampant and I got poison oak. I'll wait until the mustard weed is gone before I ride it again.

The trail is strange, the switchbacks are all cut with a bailout groove on top on the inside. If do not know the trail and you ride fast that bailout groove is most excellent. The mustard rips skin off forearms and legs, so you need to ride narrow especially when it dries. The trail down to Malibu St Pk follows a ridge and has a barbed wire fence close on one side so on this part you must jump with caution. This one rides well at night.
Happy circling the Bourgeois Compound trails.
