Since there is a thread for the beer drinkers here, I figured there would be some coffee lovers out there. I'm no coffee snob by any means but I do enjoy my daily cuppa joe. The stronger, the better.

Besides, there are a lot of funny coffee related memes out in the internet.

I enjoy a couple of cups from my French press every morning. Helps to get rid of unwanted passengers before the ride....

I swing back and forth between drinking tea and coffee. My go to for coffee making:

They also make cool frisbees and other toys: https://aerobie.com/sport-toys/

And in the summer, for me nothing beats an iced coffee to start the morning.

I alternate between the French press, moka pot, and Nespresso machine... But I'm usually good for at least 6 shots per day! This morning it was Americanos made with Illy from the Moka pot. Tomorrow it might be straight shots of Cafecito de Cuba from the Nespresso!

Well crap guess I need to admit it... Am a F'n coffee snob and even more so espresso and espresso drinks. I have no less than 5 different ways to brew coffee at home , grind my own beans and have an espresso machine with a built in PID. (Will even upgrade some day)

I live for the "God Shot" and abhore "The Sink Shot"

When I travel I seek out the best espresso and coffee I can find Just Like Bike Shop. I typically will buy beans and bring back then home.

I like the ceremony of brewing and drinking and love to brew for other people. Coffee / Espresso is an interesting mix of farming, process , chemistry and culinary.

The obsession has been growing for years and trip to Europe and Living / working in areas with strong Coffee Culture have reinforced the obsession.

Ever since I hurt my back around Thanks giving week. I have been riding on a very casual pace. Taking my time and enjoying the views.
A couple of times I have enjoyed #coffeeoutside, I call it "cafecito". Brew trail side on a safe spot.

I enjoy good coffee, but for my daily brewing at home I use pre ground (the horror!!) Gevalia light roast.

Hmmm - I'm somewhere between a coffee snob and a coffee Luddite. I grind me some Starbucks Sumatra or similar every day, and make it on the "rich" setting in my Ninja coffee maker, served by a naked Sofia Vergara.

I may be exaggerating about part of that story. :whistling:

I'm right there with you. I love good coffee but I'm not going to be precious about it.

@bvader I'd love to see a map of your favorite SoCal spots.

@bigringrider101 Does this mean some of us can kinda keep-up with you?...I'm joking, feel better.

I've been known to add some freshly ground Starbucks breakfast blend to my creamer. Takes a little of the sweetness away.

    Good Morning, IMTB!

I used to grind my own, tamp my shots, and pull them by hand. About 4 years ago, my wife said, "Wouldn't one of those pod makers be easier?" Although lately, I've been looking at some of the super automatics...

Don't know about snob but I roast my own coffee. I primarily drink espresso and cappuccino but occasionally will make a pourover. I have more espresso machines than bikes... Well only have one bike. My grinder costs more and prob worth more than my bike.
The downside is that for the most part, I can no longer go out for coffee.

Not a snob, other than can't stand Charbucks. But I love a good espresso, and even better a macchiato! But nobody seems to really know what that is. They either want to put a ton of caramel in it, or give me a cappuccino. Really, it's not that hard...
    8083661759_9440787cf3_b.jpg

Have been doing ghetto Americanos lately: Doing a second pull on an already pulled double espresso. Four oz of fluid through grounds for two oz. Delicious!

I also do that occasionally... I have one of the buttons on the Nespresso set for a 3 ounce shot.

Sadly, I gave up most milk based espresso drinks when I lost weight. A good cafe con leche was my favorite.

Yeah, that's the best! Gives the volume, but keeps the flavor... what's not to like!?!?!
I typically don't have a macchiato, as I don't put the effort into it. And by that point, if I'm going to froth some milk I'll go crazy and make a full cappuccino!

OK using my guide can they actually make a great italian style Cap with a properly pulled medium roast espresso with good micro foam 6-8oz cup (like in pic) and / or a decent pour over.

Also does their espresso stand up alone of a proper Machiatto.

Issues : any place that wants to make a Cap in a cup that I could take a Jacuzzi in. That said when I want / need some caffeine I will help them understand.

Wife's says I'm not a snob ... Just particular... Although she seemed to be giggling at by the same time.

That's a bummer about Kean's, Deidrich's was my favorite coffee before starbuck bought them. I didn't realize Pete's bought intelligencia. In Highland park we have Antigua coffee on Figuroa. Check them out if you have to come this far East.

Not a snob....not picky....can't tell the difference between dark, medium and light coffee's.

I have one small cup a day. I don't care if it is 7-11, local donut shop, Mcdonalds or a K-cup out of the drawer.

I do like it plain and black.

The Costco in Alhambra has the worst coffee selection, unless you like Jose's Colombian or some over roasted, over priced Starbucks French roast. I was online at Costco.com and saw they offer all their coffees there. Guatemala, Costa Rica, Sumatra.....all are free trade, shade grown, blah blah blah.....just a muc better selection and free shipping. I got 6 lbs of Sumatra for $46 delivered. That's less than $8/lb. Cant get that deal around here for sure!
Drink up! The trails are waiting....
