    Maxxis Aggressor
    Features All-around performance Dual-compound EXO 60 casing
    TPI dual-ply casing Tubeless Ready (TR)Sizing - 27.5 x 2.3-inch Weight: 880g on my scale
Intended conditions: Loose, loose over hard, medium CA conditions
MSRP: $62 (EXO) you can find for $49.95 online Jenson price match.

First off the tire mounted very easy with just a floor pump needed. I'm running wtb i25 hoops with a inside measurement of 25 mm and out side 30mm. Mounted the tire measured 2.25 not uncommon for maxxis. My 2.3 HR2 measured at 2.27 on the same wheels.

I was running a HR2 DC on the rear before mounting up the Aggressor. Still have a HR2 3C up front. In my opinion the Aggressor is a faster rolling tire over the HR2 and ardent. With just as much side bit as the HR2 and minion 2. Climbing the new aggressor is hooking up nice and really bitting down. That was one of my big problems with the HR2 I would spin the tire on step or rocking climbs. The aggressor dose every thing it says it dose. Not the fastest but good (its not a xc tire) and not the most aggressive tire but bits down and holds its line with great grip on braking. Over all this was what I was looking for on a all mountain/trail bike tire a Jake of all trades.

I definitely wanna try that tire next, its looks like something good for Mammoth's kitty litter conditions.

Maxxis certainly struck it rich with their "L" Shaped cornering knobs.
    Holy Moly that's a Mound-O-Meat!
I notice you are running my rims as well, love those bomb proof WTB's!

Thanks for the review! That's more tire than I will need, but I like reading what you guys think... And the weight actually makes me feel good about my plus size tires that I sometimes run.

Look in the "Component Product Reviews" forum under "Tires." Good review of that tire.

I also have been running Ardent Front and Ikon rear - in 29er flavor though.

The NEW spec's on the SC Tallboy that just came out are very interesting to me and I'm going to try the DHF Minion 2.3 up front and want to try this new mystery tire the Ardent RACE 29x2.35 on the rear.

BUT, this new Ardent Race 29x2.35 - seems to exist only on the SC website. It's not even listed on the Maxxis site. Looks to be my dream 29r rear tire, but can't find it anywhere.

QBP has a ton of them in stock, in a 2.20 though. So find your shop who deals with QBP

If its anything like the 2.2, just image the Ardent tread pattern but with shorter tread and transitional knobs throughout and lighter/harder rubber compound.

You referring to Ardent Race? I know it's in a 2.2 - but will wait for the 2.35 apparently they are everywhere in Europe, which makes no sense that they wouldn't have them here as well.

If I see them, I will pass the info on. I looked in all the overseas Ebay sites, but everyone has the 2.20 and not the 2.35s.

Ok so it seems like I'm the only one here that can answer your question. Yes I run aggressors front and rear on my 275 tracer. Disclaimer, I love maxxis. Have been running them for a long time so I might be a bit biased. I f@$king love them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best gripping tire I have ever run. Cornering is awesome, and traction is top notch. I weigh 220 and run 32psi. Cant say enough good things about them.

@uzziboy! Perhaps you should now be Tracerboy? One thing you may have noticed at IMTBTrails is that nobody likes or uses Maxxis tires, especially me. For that matter, nobody here likes Tracers either. :whistling:

OK, I'm lying. And I am guessing by your endorsement of the Aggressor that you like them better than Minions?

EDIT: Your Avatar says new member, but I think you've been posting here since 2014. My bad.

Merged both the Maxxis Aggressor Threads together and moved it to the Maxxis Tire Forum... Good Stuff!
    ...and added a Header Post...

    Edit:
Since @uzziboy (great avatar!) is so unclear on his position about these tires could we get a second opinion? Ha hah!;)

I'm interested in trying these. I see it is available in 2 TPI's. Which one is better for all around use? 60 TPI?
