New Years day /day after rides?

I'll be coming from the east on 101

 

Go get it, guys.

We are scrapping our midnight ride plan in lieu of hanging with some friends we rarely see who are in from points elsewhere.

If anybody in the OC has something cooking, post up. Knuckles, Crashalot?? Maybe the Jims or Yeager? The wife has been off her bike awhile, so I must be somewhat kind.

 

I promised the two young nephews to take them out biking tomorrow (Friday, New Years day). Might take them up Trabuco ...just to the WHT split and if they have anything left after that maybe hike bikes up lower Yeager aways. Possibility for a big boy ride on Saturday....

 

Self shuttling from Eaton Saddle. We'll hit the Merrills, Sunset and El Prieto New Years Day.

Care to elaborate the self shuttle aspect? No riding up?

 

Oh. Over an hour drive for me , 9 would be better if you can, 830 is fine if need to go earlier

 

Posted more details but to answer your question we are shuttling ourselves as opposed to hiring a shuttle service.

 

Chilao, 9:30am from Newcombs. Shuttle yourself up there for some real mtb action!

 

I see. Well then we might see you somewhere on the trail. I might do the same minus the shuttle.

I've done Chilao before but from Newcombs, that's new dirt for me!

I wanted to climb lower Sam but there are a few that can't do 4000' in one ride. It will still be fun.

 

Even "with" the shuttle, it's a tough climb, at least for me it is...

 

Hey Luis, come on out to Chilao. Maybe we can shuttle you up to Newcomb's for a nice little mini epic back to Pasadena driving by Martino Loco Shuttle service.

I'm bringing the minivan.

 

Riding on New years day.....must be nice to have that kind of discipline and self control.

Thanks for the offer Martino but my friend wants to stick to the original plan of JPL to inspiration point. We will run that route from Chilao to either Arcadia or Pasadena eventualy.

 

Those front range shuttlers are just scared of a real San Gabes Super Shuttle!

I normally try to do a big ride on new years day but between driving bro-in-law/nephews to airport in the morning and feeling a bit under the weather, i dont think its gonna happen. Save it for next week, rain and hero dirt!
