Who's Riding Where???

Headed to Hurricane in the morning and the 1st stop will be Guacamole Mesa. Taking 3 others who have never ridden there. On to GB Mesa and upper JEM on Friday, Precipice/Sidewinder/Suicidal Tendencies on Saturday morning and Nephi's Twist that afternoon. We will most likely Zen on Sunday before the SoCal crew heads home. The Prescott people are sticking around an extra day. No idea where we'll end up...maybe a ride in Kingman, Monolith Gardens, on the way home.

 

Attempting to catch up on some number chasing tomorow. Dark start with perfect weather forecast – freezing up to mid 60s. No prediction on the exact route...it depends. I'm experimenting with nutrition and will play it by feel.

I am riding Bommer Canyon Open Access on Saturday of course.
Quail parking at 7.

I figure down Cattle Crest, walk/ride up Rabbit Run, descend Rabbit, Shady Canyon single, down East Fork, back up the one diabolical climb and fire roads back to Quail.

Depending on how I feel, maybe Cattle or Rabbit Run for a second time.

Haha! That’s what’s up! That’s the one with the little bit of uphill in the middle, so pfft. You shoulda seen it 7 years ago. @Mikie and @Varaxis and @hill^billy were there. It’s on video somewhere on this website. I’ll chase you when I make it out there again.

 

Nobody cares about old time stories. The trails in Bommer were obviously easier back then. Just look at East Fork.

Strava is fun. Everyone should play.

 

Actually Cattle Crest and Rabbit Run are now sanitized. Fox Run is probably next. East Fork is a worthy climb, but too straight and short for a worthwhile DH.

I love me the Strava too!

 

You could not climb East Fork on your best day. Maybe 10 years ago.

Three rides in a row: People (dudes actually) have complained that my equipment is too stinky to be near. What the hell has happened to athletes these days?

 

Our world is now being run by Millennials. No stink allowed. Only clean, perfumed, well groomed men allowed. Sad truth.

 

But each time, the offended party was aged 48, 49, and 49 years, respectively. I think water is too affordable.

I understand and I know what you mean. The problem is, we've all been brain-washed into thinking and functioning a certain way. Look to your Millennial leaders for further support.

 

My protest is to organize group rides and sit in the shuttle van in full stormtrooper garb with 11 other people.

I was ready to kiss off Tahoe, but this streak of mild weather has undoubtedly unlocked some of the goods. SS recon this week will reveal conditions on the Rim.

If it checks out I'll head back to the ride I creamed my ankle on six weeks ago. A nice end to the season if all goes well.

 

No full moon night rides going on this weekend?
