    So rode TnA today.

Super nice quiet afternoon out there.

1st) they should put the 1way sign at the bottom telling people not hike up I've had two people hiking up they did not know until they got to the top and it seemed genuine.

    2) Bit of a close one was moving along and that final drop that @herzalot has been crushing his real wheel on. I was going fast I came around the right corner bounced off the left pushing me more to the right on that and it was farther, bigger drop and hit that edge ...hard... I think I was lucky I had suspension dialed (used it all) tires right and think I was tired and loose I came all the way down and nearly touched my chin on the bar and said oof but came out in one piece.

Also @herzalot that section you were talking about where you like to go on the tougher line up to the right... is it high right or middle right?

    Little buddy today

High right - up on a slab. It's the second left after the crux.

And there is a sign at the bottom telling folks it's bike only, DH only. People don't read signs or choose to ignore them.

Ohhh I didn't see the bottom sign...heart was pounding from the near miss.. I'll look next time.

Thx for the line I'll need to take a look, I like my lines but it's good to learn / experience new ones.

Did the article mention all the hikers we’ve seen on the now bike-only trailS?

Yep….I have yet to go down TnA since this program started that I haven’t run into hikers. A few times with dogs. Yeah, complain about us all they want.

Do you call them out? I don't ride TnA much, but I have "informed" three hikers so far on the top half of Chutes Ridgeline. I am nice about it, except once, but many times they do not read the tiny little signs. The parks could do a much better job with signage, IMO.

I agree that OC Parks bears a lot of the responsibility as the signs are not very clear, in fact they are pretty confusing.

And yes, I call people out for doing all kinds of sh*t......but no, I'm not the warm and fuzzy kinda guy.

Hikers have the upper hand in this battle, so I do as little as I can to irritate them. And as soon as I obey all of the park rules myself, I will call out the others for violating park rules. I am uncomfortable with making exceptions for myself regarding speed limits.

But I think this sign is pretty clear:

    New T and A Trail Sign.JPG
If not the words, then the picture of the hiker with the line through it should be understood.

The problem is some trails it's DH for bikes only, but Hikers can still be on it.

Not in Aliso or LCWP. Cholla is uphill only for bikes - but hikers are allowed on it either direction. Lynx and T and A are DH bikes only - no hikers. Maybe I'm wrong.

But yes, it's confusing, especially if you don't want to know. Plausible deniability.

Perhaps ... if your brightly colored bike was propped right next to the sign. When is the last time you looked at a trail sign on a trail you have been riding for years? I never read them. Why would hikers? I am on our side, but make them bright red or something.

Maybe the problem is that the sign doesn't say that trail is Laguna Ridge?

Just more reason not to bother if it's so crowded this becomes necesssary.

I rarely saw people on Laguna Ridge - before the designation, and almost no-one since. But hey, you keep believing that everything about this area sucks and you wouldn't like it. Much better than actually trying it for yourself!

Your lack of interest in the area has had a frustrating effect on some. :geek: Honestly, knowing the riding you gravitate toward makes me think you're making a fair call. I'm still a Floop virgin, too. It's all good as long as one is enjoying the ride. :)

"I like my lines but it's good to learn / experience new ones." Try riding them at night. In the parts with chunk you will take lines that you never would have during daylight.
"How many adhere to the 10mph speed limit for bikes on the OC Parks trails?". excellent statement
