I knew this one was going to get good. It’s not even close to “peak season” yet…




My radiologist friend says I need some plain films. I’m not shy about doing healthcare…when it can do something for me.

When your other ankle is as F’ed up as mine you see this injury as trivial and routine. No bones sticking out, no weird angles; good to go with a little rest.

So looks like that redwood might become a violet. Not the fall color plants I envisioned by the title.

Yesterday I rolled by some small aspen stands. The pale greens and yellow backlit by partial sun looked strikingly electrified. I thought hey, I should snap some pics. Then I thought how the intensity nuance never translates to backlit pixels or reflective art. So on I rode. Just another conversation in the woods…

A bit of a dud for colors, but the faint bruise made it to my toes and a few inches below my knee.

Thanks for the wellness wishes. I'm RICE'ing like mad and it's no issue to bear weight and walk around, so I'm hopeful.

Is it weird that blood pools at the bottom on the foot but not into the heel pad? Forced out by pressure or not enough vessels?
