There's something to be said for living in a part of the world that gets 18 hours of sunlight in June :)

I'm more of a journey than a destination kind of guy, but I appreciate his work ethic :)

My biggest week was over 42k'. No way I could do that four weeks in a row physically if not mentally.

My biggest month is only like 70,000...

This kid basically did a 3000 foot ride before school, and then a second 3000 foot ride after dinner. I'm pretty sure something would give out on me after a few days, and it wouldn't be the bike. :p

Reading the comments, I see that he got props from at least one pro. That's pretty cool...

Thinking mixing in a few big rides and having a few shorter recovery rides along the way might be rye smarter way to go about it.

Hidden Ranch to Beeks... 30 times?

I'd cut out the flat stuff in the middle, and also the steeper first half. :gag:

I can't imagine having the wits to ride down Booby Trap with that many miles. Worse than going down Trabuco after climbing up ITT. :gag:

To be a rules following Everesting you have to go up and down the same road (trail?).
Seems many of the recent roadie record breakers are actually going for fairly steep climbs, trying to keep the mileage down.
I was thinking Maple Springs to 4 Corners might be an option. 12 times or so?

6000 feet a day, while a lot, is not outside of the realm of possibility for many - if not most - of the people on this site, if you were willing to commit 6 hours per day to achieving an empty goal that means nothing - except you get to crow about it on social media. In fact, I would argue that without social media, no one would bother.

What's next... the Haleakala challenge? 10 ascents up and down the largest edifice on the planet... 300,000 feet in a month. Ready... GO! LOL! The beauty of playing an arms race with elevation numbers is that there is no limit. I just need to post "climb to the moon challenge" on the right site... and then sit back with some popcorn and enjoy.

Meanwhile I'll be exploring some interesting new dirt that is actually fun to ride instead of hitting myself on the head with a pipe over and over. If I hit some good altitude numbers... all the better for me :) But that isn't the driving factor. I'll be sending photos of the cool scenery... instead of telling you how I almost won a Darwin award because I "had" to ride a ridgeline during a thunderstorm in order to impress strangers on the Internet :)

    You guys are brutal... :Roflmao

I look at it as a 16 year old kid who isn't playing video games. He also wasn't set up for your typical big rides. The kid was on a Hightower, and rode through some fun stuff in all kinds of weather conditions- riding hard enough to break quite a few bike parts along the way.

I can say from experience that the Hightower would not be on my list of bikes to tackle climbing challenges. :gag:

    I agree with this sentiment.

While I don't think his accomplishment is overly impressive, it is an accomplishment. And I think it is far cooler than roadie Everesting, because he was probably having WAY more fun and has a far better story to tell when he is 40 years old compared to a roadie doing an Everesting during lockdown. Of course, any time I mention some of the stuff that I ride in the PB comments, I just get downvoted to oblivion, and/or comments about being a liar or something. Very entertaining :p

Honestly, I could probably do the PCE loop every day for a month on my E29, even easier if I dropped the gearing for better climbing (which I would). But I don't have the time for that. But, I could and will do some wacky stuff in the future. I have to get through my 2021 goal, which is going to be a challenge in itself (logistical, not physical).

The PB crowd is definitely a different sort and they are into DH racing and Freeride with a side helping of Enduro Racing. They take pride in their comments sections that are full of puns but while it was interesting at first, it's long played out. The things they argue back and forth about are silly and can go on for days.

Not only don't I understand anything that you just said, but I am concerned that if we ever biked together I would suffer from extreme performance anxiety :)
