I searched but I could not find any reviews for 2021 Trek Fuel EX. I am currently waiting on my EX 7. Does anyone have one of the new Fuel Ex's? How do you like it? Pros/Cons? The one I ordered is the Dark Aquatic color...Post pics if you got em...I'll post a review as soon as I get it :)

look for reviews of the 2020 version. That was when they gave it a major update geometry wise. 2021 it's just some new colors and maybe a few differences in components.

I have the 2020 EX 9.7 in carbon. It’s a great bike and the suspension design is almost the same as the Devinci Troy I had. It’s my 1st 29er and it didn’t take long for me to adjust my riding style.

I don’t know what pros/cons you are looking to compare it with, but the only con for me is the knockblock headset which limits your steering. I have ridden sections where I needed to turn the bars a little bit to make a turn. Other than that it’s a great bike.

I think we got some of those dark aquatics in GX on Monday.

Intersting...about the knockblock! I have heard the same from some other riders. I would have thought it would be a positive thing. This will be my first 29er too :) I'm coming from a 20 year old Specialized FSR

The knockblock is designed to save from your fork hitting the frame. The downtube does not have a curve in it, so the fork could hit the frame. Trek has a new knockblock 2.0 and you can upgrade it so you can get a better turning radius. It’s not a deal breaker, but mostly a minor inconvenience. Here is a picture of my hooptie also.813369D3-BF02-4BD8-8908-0E759B8F0C3A.jpeg

I have ridden the crap out of my 2018 Fuel EX. Here in the San Gabes, we have the tightest switchbacks on Earth and I have yet to hit the knock block on any turn, any where, any time. It will not impede the bike’s ability. Enjoy!!!

It’s only a few trails that the knockblock impedes me. But for the most part it doesn’t bother me. Also when I put my bike in the bed on my tailgate pad, the wheel doesn’t turn all the way. So the bike sits at an angle.

That’s interesting because when I turn the handlebars hard enough to make contact with the knock block, the bike becomes unrideable, IMO.
