Why would that be the case? Are all Maxxis tires not created equal from country to country? Or, are you just talking about Schwalbe's in general?

Schwalbe's are notorious for wearing out super fast.

REI has the DHF 2.5 3C, $68 and 15% rebate next March if you use their credit card. Im sure I could find them $5-$10 cheaper if I kept looking, but at some point my time is worth that much.

I decided to go with the Rekon 2.4 up front and Rekon Race 2.4 rear. Loved the Conti’s but this combo is more aggressive knobs, more so the front tire. Test ride tomorrow morning

    Yup!
I have struggled to find a better combo for my riding style. I run the 2.6 up front 2.4 rear. Seems to give me a little more traction on loose over hard pack. I do have to apply more pressure up front to get that. Bonus is a bit more roll for a long day in the saddle. Otherwise I would use the DHF/DHR II for their sure footedness and durability. But i do more wilderness rides then DH bombing anymore....

The DHF/DHR II are a great combo but they roll with very sluggish feel, like I’m trying to tow cinder blocks.

That’s how the Maxxis High Rollers and Schwalbe Magic Marys felt to me. By comparison the same size Minions felt like rocket ships. I can only imagine the improved speed with the half worn tires you all like!

I ran the DHF/Aggressor combo (both WT) for awhile and that's the way the 2.5WT Aggressor felt to me. The Newton weighs a little more but it rolls much faster.

Not that bad. The rear Ralphs are getting worn. Front Rays are okay. The Nics last longer than the Ray/Ralph combo. Burts go faster. I'll probably put the heavier Nics back on right now, and swap the virtually unused set of Ray/Ralphs form The Baby's bike onto Middle Child's. Maybe order a new set in January. So long/short, they last me about 3/4 of a year.

I put them on in January, rode a lot in the spring, not much in the summer.

The best way to make your tires last!!!!

FWIW they're on the Lizard, it's the one I ride/rode the most. I'm going to need some 27.5X2.8" Rocket Rons for the Stooge... the Rangers are really worn. In fact they wore much faster than any Schwalbes I've had, especially the rear. I replaced it with an Ikon a while ago, which wears better, but is still time to replace. I feel you can go longer with plus tires.

Yes they are but I do have to say the newer generation Schwable’s (at least the speed grip/ blue stripe ones) last way longer than their stuff from years past. On my Les I got about 1200 miles out of my last ray/ralph combo. That said I easily got that or more out of Ikons. Not much difference in grip but I’m pretty used to bald tires and near death experiences...:Roflmao

They should probably do a better job of mounting them next time then....
