Epic story!
Grew up in Chino. Pipeline and Baldy Pipe were my 2nd home in the 80's.
Jumping the pit was more gnarly than skating the pipe. Many times had to jump it both directions cause there was no cheater pirate plank. "Shooting the Line" is what you did when you crashed. We used to do the same thing, from the top all the way down to Moreno Ave by Montclair Plaza. It was sketchy in a lot of places, full on speed wobbles. But, there were also a few places were you had to kick to keep moving. The Badlands!!!!
