Thanks. Yeah, the kettle. Not the Ranch. I’ve been having good luck smoking on it.

Yea. The 26.75 or 26 or whatever they call it. Love mine. The big one does indirect cooking so well. I'm on my second one.

I went gas for a long time and then got inspired to smoke from friends at work.
Decided on the kettle for the versatility of smoking, and direct. I sucked a lot at first, but I’ve learned much.
Taking the opportunity to rehab the old gas Weber as well, ‘cause there are times when instant gratification wins.

Oh, yea. Gotta have a gas, too. Which I currently don't, unfortunately. I started the same way as you it sounds like. There's definitely some learning.

A little unconventional but rib eye indirect. It doesn't have to please anyone cause it's all mine as a protein snack for the work week.

Been camping at Crystal Cove. Was supposed to be for Xterra, but that didn't happen - some Covid thing or something.
Super hard reservations to get, so I went anyways. Couldn't ride or hike because I ended up bringing my dogs as my wife and her kid are going out of town also.
Plus, I got a staph infection Monday that knocked me on my ass for a couple of days.
Mostly just hung out here on the bluff doing nothing. Plus some doggie walks, where they could go.
    Back to the food.
    Don't have pics for all.
First night - stripper dogs. Friends call them this because outside the strip club in Signal Hill a street vendor cooks these - bacon wrapped hot dogs.
Night two, bison burgers. Very nice.
Tonight, salmon. I ended up overlooking it a bit, and it was too much for me. The dogs do not eat when we travel. Maybe less than a quarter of their normal intake.
I gave them each about 6 ozs of salmon which they inhaled while their normal food bowl was right there.

Highly recommend this book. Starts with understanding temperature and the science of cooking and ramps up from there. He then shifts to the most simple recipes - and explains why everything you thought you knew about scrambling eggs was wrong.

I appreciate the time he spends on deconstructing his kitchen - from the implements he has, and the spices and pantry items he keeps on hand every day. What you can't do without... and what you don't need to waste money on.

Costco has Beyond Burgers if you want to risk the wait in TP & water line. They're really good, but need to be smashed ATMO. They're not as tasty if you leave them their regular thickness.

Dang, those look scrumptious. Throw the carcasses (and any spare veggies you have lying around) in the crock pot, fill with water, and cook on low for 24 hours. The gift that keeps on giving.

Little Boston Butt on the tabletop Traeger while I was busy putting away all the stinking Xmas decorations that were piled in my garage. Great way to kill an afternoon.
