Ohhh nooo. So sorry to hear Suz. The pain of loss is the price we have to pay for the love we get to share with our furry family friends. Condolences, thought and prayers.

 

@horsebikerider (and @mtnbikej), thanks for relaying this news. My condolence to you, and good thoughts for the care you gave your beautiful friend Licorice. He was a lucky animal to have such a good owner see him through advanced age. Salute to you; may time work its magic on your loss. Peace to you both.

 

Sorry about your loss. It’s amazing how our animal friends can bring out the best of ourselves without any of the baggage our human family/ friends can bring.

My sympathies @horsebikerider . This is always a tough decision and now allowing him to run the rainbow bridge pain free. Your loving and caring for Licorice all these years is a wonderful enriching experience. You'll have pleasant memories of him, so he will live on in you.

 

Conodolencecs, @horsebikerider and to you too, @mtnbikej. Horses are awesome critters, loyal to a fault, and beautiful animals. Their handlebars may be a little weird, but they pay closer attention to what you want than your bike does. Good to know he's not suffering.

Amen to that! Losing my parents brought out the worst in my family :-(

I am so sorry. We have not been the same without Diesel so I can only imagine. i hate the hurt of loss but know that down the road it becomes fond memories. I know that don't help right now.

So sorry Suzanne! The only horse that I ever got to per and wasn't petrified by it.

 

After losing our amazing Australian Shepherd Tommy in December (he was almost 15 and a big part of our pack) we needed time to heal. For the past two months my wife and I decided we were emotionally ready to bring a new dog into our household and have been scouring all of the rescue sites for one that will work for our family. Lots of applications and little to no response. Was starting to get a little bummed. We never told our kids about our plan since we didn’t want to get their hopes up. Well last week we got a call there was a little 10 month old terrier mix who needed her forever home. I never thought I’d have a scruffy, little white dog in my life, but fell in love when we met her on Wednesday. We told the kids and they were so overwhelmed they all cried. The family who was fostering her were leaving town on Thursday and we got her that morning! Our family is complete again and she has brought so many smiles and love into our life in the short period we have had her! Her story was that she was found roaming the streets of Downtown LA. The guy who found her searched for the owners and got to them and they said that raising a puppy was just too much for them and they just opened the door and let her out... WHO THE F DOES THAT??? Anyways so glad she’s with us now!!! Meet little Elsie! Before and after groomer shots!

Our dog is named Elsie as well. She is the last of the rescue heard we had accept for our two Donkeys Dulce and Abigail.

Elsie looks to be a real sweets pie. Lucky dog for a great family!

Sad to hear of your loss. I lost my little girl two months ago. I go to the barn and I will hear her sounds, not from her, but I look all the same

My boy Milo turned 3 yesterday. Wife thought we needed to have a little party for the handsome man.

 

As some may remember my dog sandy... Carbon canyon companion got murdered 3 plus years ago...by the local ciller coyote crew...
Well I come home and wife states can we get this puppy? No!! I wanted a trail dog... Instead

In general I like people name for dogs. Mine is named Biscuit. That's what happens when you let your 8 year old name the dog.

 

Nice puppy. Looks to me it might be a good candidate for a trail dog when it grows up.

 

I always wanted to do this. Just committed to a "Foster to Own" not too long ago myself after being in hiatus after a couple of years.

 

I am always a bit hesitant to visit this thread we have had few rough losses in the last year...

But these posts are always the ones I am hoping for...
