Well, it was basically your idea... :) The frame has exceeded all expectation so far – went together perfectly (not counting my errors), and the fit feels “long term.” I hope you can throw a leg over it this year!

I knew I had a stash of brake bolts...so I’m down to the chain now. Revised gearing once I get a handle on things, but it’s essentially finished.

A few of you suspects here helped (are helping) me get to a good spot with this project. Thanks for the inspiration and wisdom! :notworthy::geek:

81A5C86F-065B-4FB4-9260-8C531EED024F.jpegI love the Squiggle Bug! Ok, now that I got that straightened out, Eleni was going to write a letter to Santa Clause in December to ask for a pink bicycle. It had to be pink, mind you. But I knew once she started complaining her wrists hurt while riding her balance bike and the handlebar wouldn’t go any higher that Christmas was too far away. Well, since today is her birthday, I figured I might as well get her a present I would enjoy with her. No training wheels; no idea how it fits. The next several days are going to be interesting.

If she's having trouble without training wheels, take off the pedals and let her use it as a scoot bike until she gets the hang of it. Only takes a short while and they get the hang of it.

~20 mi of AZT Walnut Canyon out-back. All ST, smooth to steep, chunky and attention-getting DH in both directions.

@Grego said it: It's a bad ass bike. My ride summary: Kingdom Vendetta Custom – fun as absolute F!

I've never ridden a HT this compliant. Softer ride than my Pedalhead by far. The fit and geo...wow. This thing is begging for 140-150 in front. The suspension dropper activated numerous times which was amazing. The 16° backsweep bar...just a matter of time until my other bike gets one. The gearing, while ridicule inducing, did lend for some heroic low-speed uphill saves. It will change. I've used many WTB saddles before but never a Volt. Very impressed so far.

I got a little rotor rub on hard left corners, I'm thinking due to running at the rear end of the sliders, and maybe the 3mm NDS dish on that rear wheel leftover from a GG bike. Shorten chain, dish wheel, bleed old brakes. I'm confident this thing is a keeper for everything from bikepacking to daily exercycling and the hardest terrain I can ride.

This is my fourth hardtail MTB – three steel ones previously. I've never given singlespeeding a fair shake. This bike makes it super fun but has a different feel. Particular bike aside, the concept of a shredder SS is one I can get completely on board with.

So far, expectations met or exceeded.

Aye! The bolt-on routing will allow a strapless frame bag. The 125mm dropper allows for a seat bag. Robert Axle Project has me covered for lower rack mount points with an Axiom seat collar mount. Meanwhile... :sneaky:

Not a new bike day, but a day featuring a new bike that I couldn’t let go unacknowledged. The Ripley that Kim is demoing tomorrow was actually just built up, so tomorrow is its maiden voyage. She’s quite a looker, and a sweet ass build. Perhaps too sweet.
