Going to spin the mtb around the road here by my house, with a short jaunt up STT and back down.

Where’s the snow line from the last dump? You get any mud on those trails?

The whopper that was supposed to hit NoAZ kind of fizzled, but still deposited inches on the Mogollon Rim. Melting quickly below 7500’ according to sources.

The snow is spotty in Wofford Heights around 5900 ft. I am sure there will be snow and mud on both Unal and JO.

Good looking route @mike . But damn that last couple miles climbing back up to the rim looks like a bear. Wonder where the trail name 'Military Sinkhole" comes from.... Will like to see your RR, That area looks interesting... have done some virtual retirement home window shopping around that area and up to Heber. Have fun and good luck (not that you need it)

Thanks, Dave. I did the AZT through there, so anything less will feel manageable. It was ridiculous and brutal for a long way.

The Rim is an incredble area that I've enjoyed since I was a kid. Heber and a lot of it is a bit of a void for MTB. Better for hunting, fishing, OHV, backpacking, street bike, maybe. A little flat out on the Rim could be sublime, though. It's not super high so no long winter, and services a reasonable distance away.

Looks cool @mike, have fun. Interested to hear how far the trail has been worked on. I think they have done 8-9 miles east of Washington Park, but sounds like there is still a segment to the east of where I turned around that is still in its raw natural state.

TR from my trip there for stoke, day 2 covers some of this ground. https://www.imtbtrails.com/forum/threads/tr-pine-az-for-memorial-day-2017.6160/#post-90108

Highline will be a premier point to point ride once finished.

The dirt in Murrieta was fantastic as expected but holy smokes, more people out there than I've ever seen. That goes for both riders and hikers. I guess the hikers have somehow magically discovered the place because while the biker population was maybe up by 25-33% over a typical weekend day, hiker numbers were up 1000%. Luckily, there were exactly zero of them on the singletrack. As is usually the case with riders, people stacked up at the top of climbs but you never ran into anybody while you were actually riding.

Greer Ranch or Strawberry on a school day? Or something happening on Saturday.

I have rounded up one of my Rasta Force Recon squad and we will be checking to see if the Strawberry-Gabrielino-JPL lollipop is a go or not. The Strawberry loop is in great shape...

As of 7:26am, 3/25/20, access to the trails from that JPL lot is open. Brown, KB, El P, Gabrielino, etc.
I'm gonna find out in a couple of hours if the Gabrielino is rideable from Switzer to JPL

The Gabrielino is rideable, not perfect but it rarely is. Rasta Force Recon blazed the trail, leaving nothing but smoke and ash in our wake.
Things get interesting after you drop into the Arroyo past the Bear Cyn trail junction. There are numerous downed trees but nothing really major. Rockslides and debris cones block the trail in a couple of spots but the bed is undamaged.
The Arroyo is running cold and deep and my feet finally got wet on a misjudged stream crossing that had me dip both Gore-Tex boots over the top while pedalling through.
