And I know we have a few...

Tomorrow if you go to the Cliff Restaurant in Laguna Beach (one of my favorites), you get to eat for free. Last year I just happened to be there with my daughter on Veteran's Day, and it was a great surprise!

Also... Lucille's in Mission Viejo is offering 20% off your bill the entire month of November. Buy some meal tix at CostCo, and you'll save about 40% off standard prices... and then you can give your server a huge tip (as I did today). I recommend sitting in the bar... no wait, and the ambience is awesome.

I don't have tomorrow as a holiday, so I'm taking it as vacation time. I have never had Veterans Day as a holiday. Kudos to all who served.

I would join the Luge flag ride, but it doesn't seem to be happening. o_O

My avatar is from the Luge Flag ride in 2010 :) I was representing Army, and we had all branches there... with two Navy. (I am the dude on the far right).

The military isn't for everyone... but in my case I truly feel it saved my life.

I'm annoyed that my organization stopped observing it. Normally, I'd head down to Newport and spend the afternoon buying my little bro/favorite veteran his gin martinis but, I'll have to just buy the one vet at the office a breakfast burrito. I will say, that the breakfast burritos at Wake and Late in DTLA maybe the best in So. Cal.-Fit for a Vet for sure!

I bought a flag this evening and I am going up there tomorrow to replace it unless someone beats me to it.

PS: The flag I bought is made in... wait for it....

Nope. You simply had different priorities.

Not everyone can serve in the military. Not everyone should. You serve in a different way, but one just as important. Never forget that.

It's Veterans Day again. “Thank you for your service” is waaaaay too cliche and too understated for what you have done and are willing to do for our nation.

I cannot begin to imagine the commitment and courage required to go into battle, or to secure or liberate a remote part of the globe that is essential to our values of freedom and human decency. So thank you. A million times, thank you. May our nation continue to find ways to treat our veterans well after their service.

I am heading out to buy a flag and replace the flag at The Luge if it hasn't already been replaced.

It's raining hard today, otherwise I'd put out my dock flag.

Strange living in part of the country with so much history. In my local graveyard just down the road there are graves that date from the Revolutionary War!

    Thanks to all the vets!

Thank you Veterans! I know there is a 900 Luge-flag change ride with Roy who’s been doing these rides for quite some time. Between him and Herzalot it seems covered. I’ll be riding road from LB to Newport with NoVetAlone. Be safe folks.

I work for a company that builds the stuff that protects our military every day. I am grateful to have that opportunity. I never served in the military, and years later I now regret it. As a proud member of one of the most prestigious Military Defense contractors, I get to make up for that now having the opportunity to serve them and our Vets by providing the tools to do the job they signed up for.
Thank you to our Vets and those that serve our Country.

Coming from a military family, my Dad joined the Marines at age 16 and served in Korea and into the Vietnam era before retiring as a Captain, I've always held the utmost respect for the men and women of the armed forces. One of my biggest regrets is not serving at least one hitch in the military. Thank you for all of those that made the decision to serve!!

The weird thing is that NGC is one of the largest Defense contractors and they do not observe Veteran's Day. I started with the company 2 years ago, Veteran's Day and also my first Veteran's Day I got to celebrate, as I had just retired 2 months earlier.

I am truly grateful for all branches of our military. My stepdad fought in Vietnam, and I’m thankful that he taught me to respect our military and law enforcement, it’s a shame that not every American feels the same. Too many are spoiled and take our freedom, protection and our great country for granted.
@BonsaiNut priceless photos, and thanks to you and your family for serving!
